Before I begin, I'd like to take the time to say I didn't realize how similar this story is to Barbie's "The Princess and the Pauper." And "Beauty and the Beast." Also, I'd like to say the two main characters aren't actually sisters at all. This is actually a story I wrote for my friend for her birthday, but I never finished it (oops, sorry, friend!) That's why I named one of the characters Amanda, because that's my friend's name. Sorry for all the unnecessary babbling, well, here's my story!
Characters:
Amanda: 15-year-old daughter of a seamstress and a carpenter. She has medium-length brown hair, brown eyes and is sweet and kind.
Ariette: She is the 15-year-old Princess of the kingdom of Arsach. She has long blonde hair and green eyes. Due to the death of her parents at a young age, Ariette is sour, rude, selfish and spoiled.
Gunther: One of Ariette's guards. He has been in upendo with Ariette for a long time. On the outside, he is regal, kind, and considerate, but if he is upset he will go to the extreme to get revenge.
Maria: A young servant in Ariette's castle. She befriends Amanda when Amanda came to work at the palace.
Plot:
Long, long, zamani in a far, far away land, there was a kingdom named Arsach. It was small, but prosperous. It was ruled kwa a beloved king and queen. They had a daughter named Ariette. Around the same time, in a small wooden cottage, a little daughter was also born to a seamstress and a carpenter. They were poor but happy, since they had everything they needed. Ariette was sweet and generous, and everything a proper Princess was supposed to be. Amanda was also very kind, she helped her parents, she didn't complain when she had to stay nyumbani to help instead of going out to play with her friends. Ariette and Amanda grew up separately, never knowing that their lives were about to be changed forever kwa an accident and a fever.
When both girls were 10 years old, Ariette's parents, the King and Queen of Arsach, died in a carriage accident. A few months later, Amanda's mother died in the fever. Ariette took her parent's death very hard, and since then became distant and isolated. As the years passed, she became selfish and spoiled, she didn't allow anyone to approach her but her servants.
Amanda, however, remained ever sweet and hard-working. She and her father lived together, continuing their lives as usual. Since Amanda's mother had died, Amanda had to take over her mother's work as seamstress.
5 years later, Amanda's father died. At the same time Ariette fired one of her servant girls. Since Amanda was an orphan, Ariette's guards took Amanda to be one of the Princess' servants. Amanda had heard tales of the Princess' abusive and rude actions, but she wasn't allowed to refuse an order from the Princess. She was taken to Ariette's palace and performed her duties quietly and obediently.
It didn't take too long for Amanda to notice Ariette was hiding something. The Princess often had mood swings, often became depressed and often stared into space. Amanda decided to try to ask the Princess what was wrong, but without success. After a few months however, Amanda finally discovered that Ariette had wanted no zaidi than a loving family once zaidi and people she could talk to when Amanda accidentally walked in on the Princess praying to her deceased parents.
After that, Amanda tried to get Ariette to talk to her more, she eventually coaxed the Princess out of the ngome to see the people. Ariette was in disguise, so no one noticed she was the Princess. Amanda showed her how Marafiki can make life easier, how people worked together, and how when wewe share wewe blessings with someone else, the blessing will feel twice as good to you.
siku after day, Ariette became less selfish, she was less abusive, she became zaidi generous and kind.
Eventually the two girls became very good friends, in fact, such close Marafiki Ariette insisted they be proclaimed as sisters, only not in blood, but in bond.
One of Ariette's guards was named Gunther. He had been in upendo with Ariette for a long time, for the spoiled, selfish brat she was. He noticed that Ariette was starting to change, and he didn't like the new her. He knew the reason was because of Amanda, so he had to get rid of her.
Gunther told Ariette lies about Amanda. Other than Amanda, Gunther was the only other person Ariette trusted. At first Ariette didn't believe Gunther, but when Gunther came with fake evidence to Ariette, Ariette started believing his lies that Amanda was just using her so Amanda can gain some wealth through Ariette. Ariette then turned on Amanda and ordered Amanda to be executed the inayofuata day.
Amanda didn't know about Gunther, so she was bewildered and shocked when Ariette accused her. She was thrown in the dungeon to await her execution. Amanda was heartbroken at the fact that Ariette had turned on her, because she thought they had been friends.
Maria was another servant girl in the palace, and she had befriended Amanda when Amanda first came. She had been cleaning the paintings in the hall when she heard Gunther and some of the other guards who had helped him fool Ariette celebrating. She quickly found out about how he tricked Ariette, so Maria sneaks down to the dungeon to tell Amanda. When Amanda heard what happened, she was determined to tell Ariette that Gunther was a liar.
Maria told Amanda that she would try to find something to unlock Amanda's cell to help her escape. When Gunther fell asleep that night from the wine he drank at the celebration, Maria snuck the key of the dungeon cell away from him and freed Amanda. Together, the went to Ariette and tried to tell her that Gunther was lying. At first, Ariette wouldn't listen and called the guards to capture Amanda.
The inayofuata day, when Amanda was about to be lead to her execution, Maria had a plan to expose Gunther. She went to Gunther to tell her that Ariette has decided not to execute Amanda. Gunther was furious, so he went to one of the guards that had helped him with his scheme. Meanwhile, Maria tricked Ariette to go to where Gunther and his guards are planning to change the Princess' "decision."
When Ariette heard that Gunther had been lying all along, she ran to stop Amanda's execution. She got there just in time, and released Amanda. Ariette then ordered that Gunther be executed instead.
Ariette apologized to Amanda, and Amanda forgave Ariette. They became sisters in bond once more, and Ariette became sweet and generous once more. Maria was promoted to the royal vizier, and the kingdom of Arsach was a fully happy kingdom once more.
