Which programme do wewe use to create pretty icons? Except Photoshop, of course. I know only the IcoFX, but it's not perfect. I'd like to have many effects and brushes.

IcoFX is a program for making Desktop Icons. It's not really too good for anything else. If those ARE the type of ikoni you're looking to make, there's not really too many other options. IcoFX is the best for designing your own ikoni au converting PNGs to ICOs. There's a pay program called ikoni Constructor that makes the process even easier and will give wewe frames and templates so wewe can turn any image into a decent icon. But there's not as much artistic freedom as wewe have with IcoFX. Again, those two programs are ONLY for Desktop Icons.

For ikoni like the type uploaded to Fanpop, really any graphics program will do. Even Paint will allow wewe to add text and borders to an image. Just make sure wewe do your resizing in a program like Irfanview - and whenever wewe work with Paint, make sure to save as a BMP and THEN convert the file to PNG in a program like Irfanview.

If wewe want a fancier program, Photoshop is really your best bet. However, some free alternatives are Pixia and the aforementioned Gimp. Both are very capable graphics programs, but they do require some knowledge of graphics programs to operate them.

Sometimes is use picnik.

i use 'photobucket' to create and downsize my picha and to add effects, as well as a site called 'be funky'. i would highly reccomend them.
