Duplicate picha tend to really bother me in certain spots, and I’ve observed that I’m far from the only one. I know it’s difficult sometimes to know if an image has been uploaded into a spot au not when there are 999,483,937 uploads, especially when they’re lacking in the neno muhimu department.

Google has this nice new feature called a Reverse Image Search. With a reverse image search, wewe are able to pakia au link an image into the tafuta bar and you’ll be aliyopewa a orodha of web pages containing your selected image.

(I’m about to walk wewe through the steps. I’ll be using a picture...

Right, I have been thinking about this. I have been thinking about certain things on fanpop recently and as much as I upendo this place there are certain things that irk me.

Hate Spots
I've seen spots that are about hating a certain thing. I thought this place was zaidi about sharing things we enjoy so we can give each other images, links, videos, etc not "oh I hate this and this and this". It doesn't make anything friendly.

Me Me Me Spots
I mean no offence to anyone that has these kinds of spots and has created them but fanpop isn't MySpace au any of those other social networks. It's a different...

Okay everybody on fanpop is a shabiki of something, wewe have to be, But what is a true fan? Well, I'll tell you.
According to Webster's Dictionary, a shabiki is
A:
Function:    noun
Etymology:    probably short for fanatic
1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport au a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer au enthusiast (as of a celebrity au a pursuit) <science-fiction fans>

This is a great definition of a shabiki of a baseball team au a specific person, such as the Yankees au Brad Pitt. But is that really what the mashabiki on fanpop are? No....

I guess you're already kind of resolved about this, but I thought I'd tell wewe my standing on it anyway.

If I receive messages and ukuta posts asking for me to jiunge spots au 'fan' content from Fanpoppers who I have had no prior contact with, and I'm busy, I simply ignore their pleas, with the salama assumption that they've sent them to dozens of people, and even if I didn't want to upset them kwa being non-responsive, they wouldn't notice.
However, when I have nothing on my hands (Fanpop-wise), I tend to check out their content and see if it's any good, and if I think it contributes to the club well,...

or: "Basic information about removing your account"

Special thanks to link, our fanpop guinea pig. (or should I say lab rat?)

Removing your own account is a pretty new feature, many people may not be aware of it yet.
If wewe go to Edit Profile and scroll all the way down, you'll find:
If you'd like to remove your account, click here.

Now what does this mean?

If wewe futa your account, wewe must know that:
Your contributions will not be deleted.

All your images, links, comments, foramu posts, ukuta posts, majibu remain on fanpop, inayofuata to your username.
If wewe click on that jina la mtumiaji however, wewe will be...

The fanpop website has been around for quite a few years now- 3 years in fact, and whilst it is still relatively unknown compared to the likes of Myspace, Facebook and the so-called phenomenon known as Twitter, it is still for me THE website that I pay a visit to on a regular basis.

Fanpop was formerly a small relatively unknown website, whose number of members have grown, mwezi kwa month, mwaka kwa year.

With features such as uploading images, submitting website viungo to other makala and wewe Tube video to uandishi articles, opinion pieces and posting your works of art and creating trivia questions,...

Well, I started using fanpop back in May 2007, and since then I see how the community keeps increasing in numbers which is great. I haven't been the most active user for a while now, but as I alisema somewhere else, I've always loved the site and therefore I come back every once in a while to spend some time fanpopping.

There is something I've noticed lately, that is obviously hard to control as the amount of users grows, but I thought I would point it out. What I noticed is a serious misunderstanding of the idea behind the "props" feature.

~ Let's start with the basics, according to the Online...

The concept of the heshima is wonderful. fanpop is a user based site and users should have the ability to reward others for their hard work. I also agree with the idea behind heshima Day. It should serve as a reminder to all users to give that reward. However, the heshima system has become flawed. Very flawed. I happened upon a user profaili and saw several props. I looked to see when the user started Fanpopping and saw that it had only been two months. Wow! This person must have added tons of content. So I looked at the activity. No viungo had been added, no videos, no picha (mind you, the profaili had...

I'm not afraid of you, Ghost!
I'm not afraid of you, Ghost!
So I was hanging out on my computer this evening, watching some video and browsing on Fanpop, when I noticed something that disturbed me. In not one, but two different spots. I discovered several examples of what I believe to be "Ghost Accounts".

"Ghost Accounts" are what I'm calling additional accounts created kwa an already existing fanpop member to skew the results of a pick au an argument in their favor. I have read things ilitumwa kwa other Fanpoppers suggesting their existence in the past, but hadn't knowingly spotted any for myself. Tonight I believe I spotted three different people doing...

Have wewe noticed that people on this site add lots and lots of things and gain load's of mashabiki then out of nowhere are never adding again au only add now and then. Look through your shabiki orodha and see who is still adding and praise them for there loyalty and praise even zaidi au even heshima them for their work, they all deserve it.

kwa the way this is my first soapbox
 what it says above
what it says above
Ok, I usually don't make user guides but this one needs to be made. I have seen a lot of picks and a lot of them are boring au annoying. Here is a orodha of steps to help wewe out.

1. Try to have zaidi than three majibu if possible. If the swali is "Who should Jim be with?" Put, Karen and Pam, and then put an answer like neither au Katy.

2.Always have pictures for the swali if it isn't a yes, no, au maybe question. Pictures bring in zaidi mashabiki and make the picks zaidi interesting.

3. Try to ask maswali that people haven't already asked and maswali that people will be interested in. Don't make it boring.

Now these are the three golden steps to making a good, quality pick on fanpop. If wewe feel I need to add anything, then please leave it in the comments.
