Mates/Breeding
Choosing to take a mate/breed is a very serious matter because it affects rank. If a lower-ranking subordinate becomes mates with a higher-ranking wolf, that mbwa mwitu also becomes a higher rank. If any mbwa mwitu - no matter what rank - were to become mates with an omega, that mbwa mwitu would automatically become an omega as well. The only possible exceptions are the alpha and medic; a beta would also become an omega.
Deltas' may not take on a mate au sire/mother pups (because they're too young). Omegas' may take on a mate but are not allowed to sire/mother pups (it would also be considered suicidal for a mbwa mwitu to take on an omega as a mate).
Ranks also affect a pair’s offspring. The offspring of higher-ranking Mbwa mwitu loups are immediately zaidi respected than that of lower-ranking wolves, and are aliyopewa zaidi opportunities to prove themselves and climb through ranks; they are favored. (Note: all pups are cherished kwa the Pack, no matter what rank.)
In short: subordinates/beta/alpha are completely allowed to take on a mate/breed, even encouraged, because a large pack is a strong pack :)
