Everything seems to be going wrong for Izzie Stevens. Just when Shonda Rimes tricks us into thinking she has found the perfect man and is finally on the right track, something knocks her back.
Alexiz:
The original Izzie & HSCD/DH (Hot Stud Cruelly Dumped/Dumped Her), Alex & Izzie seemed to be great for each other, and had all the right things in common: 1) They're both Hot, 2) They both like doing the nasty-nasty. However, Izzie wasn't enough to wake up Alex' "beast" and it took Olivia Harper to, erm, satsify him.
Here, Alex seems to be a HSCD. Without the Cruelly, heck, he deserved it.
Dizzie
Here's something I thought would really work out. Sweet & serious (and very mischievious & cheeky) Denny Duquette, Jr. aliiba our Izzie's moyo kwa (conveniently) having problems with his own. :) With a light, fairytale proposal, it seemed it would last forever. Playing Scrabble, talking about performing various sex acts, cutting each other's LVAD wires (okay, that one wasn't mutual), Shonda just had to stop all the "bright and shiny".
Denny died of a stroke and left Izzie $8.7 mill. At least the poor bloke died in kindness.

Something I'm on the fence about. Genius plot songesha au disastrous plea for ratings? wewe decide. They do say best Marafiki make the best couples. And opposites attract. Many mashabiki were a little shocked that Izzie turned down Alex just before her "incident" with George. So many things stand in the way of this relationship, au at least, what it could be: Mersey West, George's redoing his internship, Izzie is an attending, oh, and Callie, George's wife.
