Eddy Murphy's Priceless Expression
The Story
Like The Pirates of the Caribbean series, the film is base on the Disneyland attraction. The film reminds me of the 1999 remake of the Haunting, in terms of the story-line and the special effects. With the exception of the spookiness.
The reason why I alisema all these things is because, I suspect that they use the same effect team from the 1999 remake. That I will only watch the Haunted Mansion once and that was it!
Finally, the sense of humour lacks in this film. I did not laugh the whole time at all while watching the film.
The Characters
Speaking of the characters, Master Gracy is actually in a contrast to his 1999 The Haunting counterpart, Hugh Crain. Mainly because Gracy is friendly and polite who is devastated that his beloved Elizabeth has passed on, Hugh Crain on the other hand, is a sadist!
When Jim Evers and his family came to the Haunted Mansion, Master Gracy took a liking on Sara due to the fact that she has an uncanny resemblance to Elizabeth, whereas Hugh Crain wants Nell dead.
The family are really unlikable, maybe except Sara to whom I took a liking on her.
Finally, not to forget that Ramsley the butler eerily resembles Hugh Crain! In particularly his appearance and mannerisms, I got a laugh at this.
The Effects
One thing that I really enjoy about this film is the effects, although it has similar effects to the Haunting. But 10 times better than the latter! I upendo how the ghost appears and presents themselves that is different from other ghost films, in a cartoony way that is!
This is Halloween!
So, here is my mini review on the lousy film, I personally would not recommend wewe to watch this at all!
