Draco got relatively good grades -- the only thing Lucius had to say about them was that a "mudblood" was getting better.

Ron is a horrible student, and Harry's not much better.

Harry and Ron don't strike me as good students, they are rather slouch on the job. Draco is a top student as apparently, only Hermione is ahead of him - which is saying something.
