People say, upendo is complicated, but it’s not true. The truth of the matter is, human beings are complicated, not love. upendo is everything but complicated. It’s compelling, passionate, caring, and gentle. And, she had it, she had love. They were compelling together, passionate in their bickering, caring, but only when nobody was watching, and gentle at times. Though, she’d never admit, that the misanthropic, son of a bitch, kahaba doctor, had her heart, and always would. He could say he was just her employee au she was just his boss, but that’s a lie. She knew it, and so did he. On October 28th, her life was turned upside down. Not just because of the adoption falling through, but, because, he kissed her. Whether it was out of guilt, comfort, au love, she didn’t know. Though, she knew one thing, and one thing only, she was deeply and madly in upendo with him, after that moment. There had always been something there, but he and she chose to cover it up. And now, it was uncovered. They didn’t discuss their true feelings, but they were out there in the open. Maybe, just maybe, he would do something about it on this Tuesday morning...
“Dr. Cuddy!” His scream echoed through the spacious office, as he walked in. She took her eyes off her paperwork lying on her desk, and squinted her eyes at him.
“Someone doesn’t look happy…”
“You’ve got another sexual harassment suit filed against you!”
“Oh, that’s what you’re upset about. Obviously, she didn’t like my compliment to her breasts.”
“House, enough!”
“They weren’t like yours. They weren’t firm.”
“House, I’m too busy for your annoying maoni right now. Is there anything wewe actually need?”
“I need sex, don’t suppose wewe could help me out with that?”
“Yes”. She thought to herself.
“Nope. Is that all?”
He nodded, and without another word, he walked out of her office.

When does upendo become something we need, rather than something we want? upendo was seen as something special a long time ago. Now upendo is what we are expected to have with us everyday of our lives. upendo is common currency when wewe are a teenager, but turns to worthless pennies the older wewe get. Do we not care about the substance of what upendo was and not what it has been made into today kwa commercialisation from American sinema and televisheni commercials and soap operas? Only when we experience upendo for real, can we maoni and judge others who are in Love. upendo means something different to everyone. Not two people’s feeling of upendo is the same. Why do we generalize, rationalize and compartmentalize Love? upendo is and will continue to be an enigma. Only a handful of people will ever unlock it and witness its true beauty and essence. The essence we all crave.
Love.
Love.
