Cuddy woke up in a daze, her head felt like it was inside a vice, it was only when she sat up, that she noticed a glass of water on the coffee meza, jedwali in front of her, with a Vicodin tablet inayofuata to it. Cuddy looked at it confused, but then a smile came across her face.

Cuddy: House?

Cuddy called out, but there was no reply. She was alone. Picking herself up, she slipped into the kuoga and began to remember what happened last night. She bowed her head; the water from the showerhead dripping down her face and back. It was the only time she allowed herself to cry; the water could hide the tears.

When she stepped into her bedroom, she get dressed, and looked at herself one last time in the mirror. Smiling with enthusiasm, before her frown re-appeared.

Meanwhile…

House had driven back nyumbani on his motorcycle at around one o’clock in the morning. As he slumped onto his side, in his bed, he checked the time on the alarm clock. It read eight o’clock, still too early for him. Before he could go back to sleep, he smiled at the image of Cuddy sleeping softly in his arms. House would normally relish the thought of being in that situation with any other woman, but not with Cuddy. Instead, he felt different. With a questionable look on his face, House took a mental step back and thought for a moment. Was he feeling something more, something deeper, for Cuddy?

Sitting up in his bed, he closed his eyes and his mind immediately jumped to the kiss they both shared months ago. He felt a sinking feeling inside his stomach, and he finally connected the dots; he had fallen for her, after all these years, he had finally found the missing piece of the puzzle.

Cuddy arrived at work, she nearly collided with House, who was in the elevator when he noticed her coming in, before the doors had closed, he could have stopped them from shutting, but he couldn’t talk to her after finally unveiling his true feelings to himself.

Foreman: New case, blind kindergarten teacher. She can see shapes, numbers, and colours.

House: But she’s still blind right?

Thirteen: It must be something that his inhibited her brain, which in turn has affected her visually.

House: An MRI will give us a clearer view.

The team left, nearly knocking into Wilson who came into the outer office at the same time.

Wilson: So.

House ignored him, as they both moved to House’s office. House sitting down, whilst Wilson stayed standing.

Wilson: What happened?

House: Nothing.

Wilson: Nothing, as in?

House: Nothing.

Wilson: She passed out; wewe didn’t leave her on the floor au somewhere?

House: She was passed out, where she passed out. Then wewe told me not to leave her.

House saw that Cuddy was coming out of the elevator, she began walking towards his office.

Cuddy: Oh, are wewe two busy?

Wilson: No, I was just…leaving.

Wilson left hesitantly, as Cuddy turned and watched him leave, she then faced House.

Cuddy: I just came to say thank you, for last night.

House: Your welcome.

Cuddy: Okay.

Cuddy turned around to leave.

House: Is that it?

Cuddy turned back around, as House stood up and walked slowly towards her.

Cuddy: wewe want me to send wewe a muffin, mkate ule ulikuwa mtamu basket?

House was stuck for what to say, until a light bulb flashed above his head.

House: How about an all expenses paid for date?

Cuddy seemed a little stunned, and taken a back kwa House’s proposition.

House: Pick me up at eight?

House smiled and left her standing in his office, her mouth wide open in shock.

Just a drabble for the ship mwezi fanfiction contest!

He jokes. She laughs.

He rants. She argues.

He denies it.

She denies it.

Wilson would tell wewe they’re still little kids, fighting just to see who would win.

Cameron would tell wewe they’re in love, and fighting’s just his way of inaonyesha it.

He would tell wewe upendo doesn’t exist, just the need for another.

But isn’t that the definition of love? The need for another?

She would tell wewe she may have had feelings for him once, but she’s not sure they exist anymore.

But is upendo something that ever leaves?

She would tell wewe she’s tired of...

"You upendo her?!"
"That was what I said?"
House's cell phone rang.

Summary: Continuation of “Paternity”

House didn’t know how long he’d been standing on that lacrosse field. But the sun had gone down hours zamani and the sky was now pitch black and his breath was visible. He shook his head and downed two Vicodin before finally heading back to his car. He’d be lying if he alisema that his missed his old life. Looking back, college was the best time of his life. Lacrosse, running, tons of girls falling over themselves to get to him, Cuddy…he smiled faintly at those memories. She’d pursued him, but not in that way. She was intrigued...

"Why are wewe here?" House asks as he opens his front door wider.
"I'll tell wewe if wewe let me in." Cuddy says as she unwraps her scarf.
"Fine." He says as he limps to the kitchen.
Cuddy enters the apartment and locks the door behind her. She follows him into the kitchen.
House drinks a glass of bourbon while he leans against the refrigerator. He watches Cuddy unbutton her kanzu, koti and throw it on juu of the counter.
"Your birthday is in a week." She says as she walks to stand in front of him.
He remains silent.
"You should use some of those vacation days and have a week to yourself."
"You could've...

"Drive safe. Goodnight!" Cuddy yelled as her family and Marafiki left for their cars.
Feeling the soft chill of night air on her exposed arms, Cuddy quickly went back inside her home.
She saw all the empty glasses and plates left on the meza, jedwali and various presents scattered around her moto place. It was a lot to clean up, but she decided to wait until the morning. It would be saturday afterall, and she'd be up early with Rachel.
Cuddy smiled at the thought of her little girl. The baby naming ceremony had been fun. Her parents were surprisingly civil to one another, her sister was less judgmental...
