Having been promoted to Alpha kwa Scar, Sweets still had to go through Alpha training. The only place to do this was Jasper Park, Canada. Which meant that somehow, Sweets and Scar would both have to go up into Canada.
Once Sweets was fully grown, we all started making plans to transport her and Scar up there, as Scar was gonna be the one putting her through the training.
All things considered, planning this didn't really get that difficult... It was a matter of making sure Scar's C63 was up there with her, which entailed a friend driving one of my cars behind the Benz so that I could drive nyumbani . Once we'd gotten that handled, it got real simple.

* * *

The night before the little caravan was to set out, we decided to watch a movie, the last one that Sweets would see as an Omega. Having seen all my sinema a million times, I let them pick. To my surprise, they chose juu Gun. Needless to say, I threw it in and watched with them...

The inayofuata morning, I woke the two wolves, got them bundled into the car, and woke my bud, who was gonna be following me in my ACR, which was my fun car. I had to threaten to ngumi, punch his face if he broke my car, but that's standard procedure for that kind of thing.
We got on the road, making good time due to the fact that both cars were booking it the entire way. Lucky for us, we didn't get pulled over...

Chapter 32

(3:44 A.M.)
(July 5, 2011)

By this point, Bolt and I had laid out the plan, me to the humans and Bolt the animals. We'd figured out contingencies, plan B's, C's, D's, and E's, and laid out which team was doing what.
Teams Alpha, Bravo, and Delta were the main assault force, Team Echo was backup, Foxtrot was the sniper support, and Gamma was meant as a distraction. Trudy, being the only pilot that wasn't part of the assault force, was the taxi. She'd drop Alpha, Bravo, Foxtrot, and Gamma off at the compound, then return to my house and keep the chopper on 5 dakika standby with Delta...

(2:12 A.M.)
(July 5, 2011)

A soft rap on the door sent every mbwa mwitu in the room instantly on edge. I waved them down and glanced through the peep hole. Standing there was my help.
I swung the door wide and grinned. Penny, Bolt, Trudy Chacon, Mittens, and Rhino were all there, standing on my porch.
I hugged the girls, petted Bolt on the head, and picked up the cat and the hamster.
"Glad wewe guys could come," I said.
"Wouldn't miss it!" alisema Penny and Trudy at the same time.
"Hey, Colb, I brought a couple others. One's a sniper. He's one of the best shots I've ever seen, can shoot the dust...

Chapter 30

(4:28 P.M.)
(October 28, 2008)

The fira, viper ACR's naturally aspirated American V10 powerplant hummed at two thousand RPM as the car cruised at 70 mph on the US101. I had the windows down and the radio was playing Nickelback's newest album, Dark Horse. The throb of the powerful engine matched the beat of the current song, "Burn It to the Ground." It would become obvious later that this was a hint of what was about to happen.
I glanced in the rearview mirror to make sure I could change lanes, and when I did, I saw a Bentley sedan barreling towards me.
I got out of the way in a hurry, assuming...

(Time unknown)
(Date unknown)

She wakes in total darkness. Her sense of smell is the first to return. She sniffs and detects the faint metallic odor of blood.
Next she feels a square of a rough cloth stuck to her back, up between her shoulder blades. She shifts slightly and a lance of pain shoots down her back. She growls instinctively.
Her finely tuned ears pick up the sound of people talking in low voices. The only word that she can pick out of the jumble of voices is "wolf".
They must be talking about me, she thinks.
Foot steps precede the arrival of a human. The door opens and a...

Chapter 27

(July 4, 2011)
(11:31 P.M.)

The Sikorsky landed with a touch as sweet as a kiss, the landing gear settling on the turf and bearing the heavy chopper's weight.
Inside the two person cockpit, I sat there for a moment, unwilling to move. But I knew I had to some time, so after a minute, I started flipping switches. The only things I left alone were the climate controls and lights for the passenger cabin.
Crammed into the passenger bay of the Sikorsky S-76C light helicopter were as many of the Jasper Mbwa mwitu loups as I could get; Candu, Hutch, Winston, Eve, Tony, Ela, Candy, Salty, Shakey, Mooch,...

Chapter 26

(July 4, 2011)

It was a sunny Wednesday in Kettle Falls, Washington. The sky was cloudless, the air fresh and clean. It was two days after Kate, Scar, and myself had returned from a vacation that I would never forget as long as I lived. Sure, the destination made it so, but zaidi than that, it was Scar and Kate that made it unforgetable.
I had needed to run to the store for a pickmeup for Scar, who was just now starting to onyesha the weird cravings brought on kwa her pregnancy. I had been sent to fetch hotdogs, A1 steak, mnofu sauce (yum), and chives. (Yes, I know that this combination of ingredients...

Chapter 25

(Bear in mind that I really did go to Alabama, and the story that I tell is one hundred percent true)

(June 27, 2011)

After an exhilarating siku of screwing around on the beaches of Fort Morgan, Alabama, we were all dog tired.
Scar, Kate, and I retreated from the rapidly chilling ocean breeze into the warmth and safety of our rented beachfront property.
Scar and Kate lounged around on the kitanda while I prepared dinner; steak, mnofu for the Mbwa mwitu loups and a supreme pizza for moi. The succulent meaty aroma of steaks mixing with the dough and toppings on the pizza made all of our mouths water.

Once...

Chapter 23

(June 26, 2011)

After a 16 hours of almost nonstop driving, 4 bathroom breaks, 2 meal breaks, and one traffic jam, we stopped for the night. We paid for a night, and within 10 dakika of walking through the door, everyone was asleep.

*eight hours later*

We all awoke to the blaring alarm that I had set. It was almost noon, and we needed to get back on the road. After a hasty breakfast provided kwa the motel, we were all back in the Nissan and on the highway once again.

The entire driving time yesterday, I had maintained a good 8 mph over the to save some time. The Nissan GT-R Spec...

Chapter 21

(June 24, 2011)

The Sikorsky landed at Colville Municipal airport at a quarter to eight in the evening. The landing was one of my smoothest in hivi karibuni flights and it earned me a glance of approval from my Scar.
Kate, however, didn't even look up. She just sat there in the crew chiefs seat, staring at the ground with a depressed look on her face.
"Kate?" Scar asked uncertainly.
She looked up at her. Her eyes were clouded and she just looked miserable.
I made an executive decision and scooped her up. She offered no resistance and just laid there in my arms.
With Scar hot on my heels,...

(June 24, 2011)

The maroon and black Sikorsky S-76C medium lift helicopter cruised at 120 knots five thousand feet above the ground. I didn't want to go any faster.
In the passenger bay rode a contingent of Mbwa mwitu loups and a pair of humans.
The Mbwa mwitu loups were Sweets, Candy, Lilly, Humphrey, Garth, Eve, Winston, and Tony. The humans were Brandon and Rich. Scar rode shotgun with me up in the cockpit.
I was dressed in my dress uniform. It was the first time I had worn it since the siku I crashed my F-22.
The reason for my wearing this was that I was attending the services of my deceased friend...

*Warning: Explicit content*

Scar laughed at me.
I had been playing Forza 3 on the Xbox 360, driving a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, which is a car that I wanted in real life. I had been in the lead in a multiplayer race when someone tapped my rear bumper and sent me sideways. I took pride in my cars and I was zaidi upset about the damage that the wreck caused than the fact that I Lost the race.
When I tried to explain this to Scar, she just laughed.
"But this is one of the most awe-inspiring Ferrari's ever! And it costs me to repair the car!" I insisted.
"Colby, you're such...

(June 6, 2011)

The first ten dakika of my drive, I couldn't see shit because I was crying too hard. It's a miracle that I didn't crash my CO's four hundred and fifty thousand dollar Ferrari 599 GTO. After that though, my eyes were clear enough for me to see.
Once I got out of the massive amount of traffic near Harborview, I made a phone call.

He picked up. "Hello?"
"Hello?!" I alisema hurriedly. "Jon?"
"Yeah," he alisema slowly.
"It's Colby! Scar ran out on me! She alisema she was going to your house. Have wewe gotten a call from her?"

(June 4, 2011)
(this part takes place after my various surgeries)

From the drug-addled haze that being sedated was, I emerged into the light and heat of reality. The first face I saw was that of my loving Alpha, Scar. She looked down at me, worried.
"Hi, baby," I mumbled. She laughed.
"Hey, wewe druggie," she alisema back. The twinkle in her deep brown eyes told me that she was just playing with me.

When I woke up, the morphine had worn entirely off. I was clear and levelheaded again.
I blinked and looked around to see Scar trying to open the window. She didn't know I was awake yet, determined...

(June 3, 2011)
(this is right after I woke up for the first time after the crash)

The first thing I heard was a soft, gentle beeping. I kept my eyes closed and just listened to it for what seemed like hours.
From the scents I was receiving, I could tell where I was; disinfectant, disease, hand soap. I could only be in a hospital.
When I opened my eyes, I was quite startled to see a mbwa mwitu staring at me. The mbwa mwitu had light brown eyes and reddish fur, manyoya and I recognized her immediately. Scar, from Alpha and Omega.
I smiled at her.

"Colby!" she squealed.
"How do wewe know my name?" I asked, raising...

(Scar here again. This was one of the scariest days in my entire life!)

Once Jon got us to the hospital, he parked and hustled all of us inside. The hospital was a maze of white linoleum, beige walls, and people in white uniforms. The whole combination scared the shit out of me.

When the emergency room people finally let us go inside and see him, I was 10 feet ahead of everyone else.

Inside the room, I hesitated. For the first time, I wasn't sure that I really wanted to see him like this.
Jon walked in behind me and crouched down inayofuata to me. "What's wrong, Scar?" he said...

The volatile aviation fuel mixed with the heat in the compressor of the right engine and lit. The subsequent detonated tore the tail of the F-22 fighter apart with a bone-shaking boom.
The shockwave from the explosion slammed my helmeted head against the instrument panel, making me see stars.

"COLBY!" Scar screamed.

I blinked the stars out of my eyes and snatched the controls. I wrestled with the stick, trying futilely to bring what was left of the aircraft back under control. The controls vibrated violently in my grasp as the control...

(June 2, 2011)
(This episode takes place two days after part 11)

When I woke up Saturday morning, Scar was already awake and not in the kitanda with me. This immediately sent my brain racing, because this was very unusual. She was laying on the window ledge, looking out at the gray mist. I raised myself up on one elbow and looked at her through fuzzy eyes.
"Scar?" I alisema softly.
She looked over at me, her eyes alert.
"Oh, hey," she whispered back.
"What's wrong, babe?" I asked.
"Today's your graduation from Aggressors, right?" she asked.
"Yeah."

“This is Dr. Johnston,” he alisema when he came on the line.
“Hey, doc, this is that guy that pulled a gun on wewe earlier,” I alisema hesitatingly. There was only silence. “Anyway, I’m just calling to apologize for that. I would never have pulled the trigger and wewe were in no danger at any point. I just had to get back there and make sure that Scar got treated.”

"Colby?" he asked.
"Yes, sir," I said, standing and extending my hand.
He shook and introduced himself.
"How is she, doc?" I asked, scared shitless.
"She's refusing to be treated. I've tried explaining to her that she could die, but she refuses to allow it," he said.

When we got to the park, I let Scar out of the car. She ran straight up to this German Shepherd dog, tail wagging up a storm. The dog went into a play bow, au whatever its called, and Scar responded in the same way.
I went over to a bench in the park and plopped down on it to watch her have fun.
She rolled around and played and jumped with that dog for half an saa before Scar moved in an odd way. I watched this with interest, but before I could do much zaidi than move, I heard her yelp loudly. I saw the...
