End of Chapter 12
***Jasper's POV***
Alice looked up at the house, then her eyes went blank like they do when she has a vision. All of my petty thoughts were instantly forgotten as I moved up and wrapped my arms around her, supporting her. I whispered my apologies to her as I held her, waiting for her to return to me and tell me what she saw.
It was a few dakika (which was unusual) before she blinked, her entire body frozen in pure fear. She turned and stared at the house for a sekunde before she turned and looked at me...the fear in her eyes enough to make me defensive.
"What is it?" I asked as I looked to the woods.
"Edward." She whispered.
Great...here we go again. zaidi drama with the perfect Edward...I wonder what he was getting into now, and if...
"Jazz...he's gone." Alice whispered, breaking me out of my hateful thoughts. "He...he left us. I can't see him...I don't know...I'm so scared." She alisema as her legs went weak and she collapsed in my arms.
I scooped her into my arms and took off to the house as I watched her face transform from fear to loss....a loss that I helped contribute to...no that I was responsible for.
Chapter 13
***Edward's POV***
I sped down the highway, ignoring the looks that people were giving me as I sped past them. I knew I should slow down, that I was drawing attention to myself but honestly...I didn't care.
I arrived in Seattle in less then a hour, my car's speedometer buried over one hundred miles per hour. I sighed as I took my foot off the gas, knowing there was a squad car tucked into a alcove up ahead. I smiled as I went past the cop, wondering what I would have done if he would have chased me. I mean..would I have just pulled over of would I have gotten away? I was Lost in my thoughts when my cell phone rang on the passenger seat.
"What?" I growled as I answered the phone.
"Edward, are wewe alright?" Esme's sweet voice asked.
"Yeah." I alisema bitterly, almost instantly regretting my tone. It was not her fault that I ran away, not her fault that I was the odd man out.
"Edward, will wewe come nyumbani please?" She asked, the sadness in her voice pulling on my moyo strings.
"Esme, I need to think. I just need some time. I will check in." I alisema as I hung up the call, not letting her try and talk me in returning home.
I looked around, not knowing where I was going. I just needed to get away from everyone...to think about my life. I pulled into a large hotel, stopping under the awning which was completely covered. As I climbed out of the car a young girl stopped to stare at me as she climbed out of the car. I tended to ignore the looks that I got, we have all become accustom to being watched..or on the other hand we were use to being feared..to have people walk onto the other side of the street.
I looked into the girls eyes, expecting her to look away but much to my surprise she met my gaze, her deep brown eyes looking deep into mine. I stopped where I was standing and tried to focus in on her thoughts so I would know what she was thinking when she looked at me...and no matter how hard I tried it wouldn't work. I could hear her mother and father's thoughts, and all of the thoughts of people around us..but I couldn't hear her. I was focusing so hard that when my phone rang it surprised me, making me jump just a little.
"What?" I alisema as I looked away from the girl.
"Edward, please." Alice asked.
"Please what?"
"Please come home, Jasper is.." She started to say as I interrupted.
"Alice, right now I don't want to hear that he is sorry, au that his life was so much harder then all of ours. Please don't make excuses for him." I said, not holding back anything.
"Edward." She said, her tone cautious.
"No Alice, please just tell everyone to leave me alone. I will be nyumbani when I am ready and not a moment before that. Do not come looking for me, I will leave again if wewe do."
"Alright," She said, sounding defeated. "I'm sorry Edward, please come back soon."
"Yeah." I alisema as I ended the call and brought my attention back to the girl who was now standing in front of me, looking at me with curiosity. I wanted to talk to her, to try and figure out why I couldn't hear anything from her..and why she wasn't afraid of me.
"Bella, let's go." Her mother alisema as she grabbed her arm and pulled her into the hotel.
I watched as the girls mother pulled her into the hotel, smiling slightly when Bella looked back over her shoulder at me twice before the doors closed. I knew that it was foolish, that she would never want anything to do with me..and if I was smart I would just stay away, but there was something there..something I had to know about.
