Buddy sat on the edge of the bridge, watching the raging river rush beneath him. The rain fell in sheets, drenching his coat. He did not mind however, he was a Labrador and built for it. I had been planning it for some time but I wanted to take Kate and onyesha her the legendary ice caves above Crystal Lake. This frozen cave stays frozen mwaka round even in the hottest months of July and August when temperatures reach 90 to 100 degrees. It was about a 7 mile hike from the parking area and would take most of the siku to do, for Kate it would be easy but it is a different story for me.

I had been debating whether au not to take Kate to school with me and finally decided on bringing her with me. *author's note: the camping trip is now over, this is written to pick up the pace of my stories a bit, still the most exciting part has yet to come!*

When the camping trip ended; the Airstream unpacked at home, the usual routine resumed. Now since school was out I went to work full time at the store. For 3 days I would work a full 8 saa shift. The money was much better but I still needed zaidi to save for college.
I landed a job with one of dad's old Marafiki who was also a part time mason. A man named Tim, he like my dad was older and had a bad back too. I worked at that job for 2 days...

The inayofuata morning Buddy took off exploring. Buddy was searching for beavers. They had constructed a new dam downstream from where the old one that he had plunged into the awali spring was. He came upon the newly constructed dam and to his surprise there was hardly any water in it; 3 beavers were sitting in the middle of it, watching him. "Don't worry, I'm not going to eat you!" Buddy said.
