I came nyumbani from school the usual way - walking. We couldn't afford a car, my dad spent all our money on drugs and alchohol. Whenever Mom caught him drinking, she would send me out of the house for the night. I did not know what went on after Dad got drunk, but i probably don't want to know anyway.

I passed kwa a dark alleyway, and a shrill screaming caught my attention. I looked, and I saw three large boys pounding on a little boy.
