Hold Up, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney Are Just \'\'Taking a Break\'\'

UPDATE: Lady Gaga took to Instagram to address the status of her relationship with Taylor Kinney. With a black and white photo of the couple walking together, the singer writes: "Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We\'re just like everybody else and we really love each other."

It looks like there\'s hope after all!

Many fans\' hearts broke earlier today upon the news of Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney\'s engagement being called off, however, it seems like the famous pair aren\'t absolutely, completely, for sure, done.

magazine, "They are taking a break." Furthermore, a source tells the mag that their schedules definitely made things difficult, but they\'re not ready to completely throw in the towel just yet.

"She\'s working on an album, he\'s working on his show, they aren\'t in the same state, it was just hard," the insider said. "They both love each other very much and they want it to work. It\'s just been tough with the long distance."

There was speculation on the status of the couple\'s relationship after Gaga was spotted without her ring on.

Last week—on Kinney\'s birthday—Gaga was photographed without her famous sparkler on her finger. When she performed at an orphanage in Mexico earlier this week, the ring was again missing. Neither Gaga nor Kinney has commented on the matter, and it\'s unclear who initiated taking the time off.

The former pair began dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of Gaga\'s "Yoü and I" music video, and it didn\'t take long before the public witnessed their magical connection.

"When you meet someone that\'s not intimidated by the amazing people that are around you [or] by the love that you receive—that\'s love," Gaga told

magazine in 2013. "Men weren\'t always happy for me. It was very challenging to watch a woman be so successful."

Kinney was The One, according to Gaga. "I really can\'t imagine being with anyone other than who I\'m with right now," the Golden Globe winner told Howard Stern in a December 2014 SiriusXM interview. "He is the right guy. I have that feeling. I just know it."
