SIMON Cowell is allowing his X Factor boyband One Direction to write their own songs on their debut album.
Harry Styles, 17, Louis Tomlinson, 19, Liam Payne, 17, Niall Horan, 17, and Zayn Malik, 18, will release their first single in June.
And the One Direction lads, who are also ambassadors for the new Pokémon releases, can’t wait for their muziki to come out.
Liam bubbled: “Some boybands can be generic but we want to be special. We want to release our first single in June. It’s gonna be a big summer feelgood hit.”
Niall added: “We are involved in all the writing. The label wanted a young take on the music, so it’s important the album has our feel, our sound.
“We want to believe in what we are singing.
“The experience of recording has been eye-opening. We’ll never look at muziki the same way again after learning what goes on behind the scenes.”
Louis alisema of the as-yet-unnamed first single: “We want to get it right. It’s got a roof-down-enjoy-the-sun kinda vibe.
“We are recording loads of songs, so we still don’t know what will make the final cut of the album.”
Not just busy with the record, the boys are mega-chuffed to become ambassadors for new Pokémon releases Pokémon Black and Pokémon White on Nintendo DS.

Louis said: “If my mum tries to tell me off for being stuck to my DS, I’m gonna tell her: ‘Excuse me, but I’m an ambassador for Pokémon.’
“We’ve been on The X Factor tour and that’s been really exciting but when we’re backstage we’re straight back on the DS’s.”
But it’s been zaidi carrots than consoles on stage.
Niall explained: “Louis once alisema he likes girls who like carrots and the inayofuata thing we had girls jump on the carrot vibe.
“We’ve had people come to gigs dressed as carrots. Our guitar, gitaa technician even got hit kwa carrots the other day.”
Louis added: “It’s amazing the amount of carrots on stage at the end of show.”
