I think they're still alive.

It's not this black and white you know. He probably thought he watched them die but I think they actually went back to the future.
That is probably what he saw but he couldn't make sense of it.
And they're definately not all going to die because who's going to be in the sixth season then?

I'm kinda leaning toward the theory that there are two timelines: the one that happened before and the once that will happen. Everythin up until this point has been the same - it's always happebed liked that.
My guess is that "The Incident" is what's going to split time, so things will change.

Remember, Richard was the only one in the '70s and in present day. He was in the timeline that already happened - when everyone actually did die.
But now Jack is going to change things, so everyone lives. Of course, he hasn't done it yet. How could Richard remember something that hasn't happened yet?

Anyways, that's what I'm thinking.

since richard has lived thru everything he knows what happened. but......richard says they all have died. but jack, kate, and sawyer are going to change something in the past therefore they probably wont die. but richard is really important because he has always been there. and sometimes her remembers some things and sometimes he doesnt remember other things and i think that is because it hasnt happened yet due to jack, kate, etc in the past.
