Chapter 10
“What’s up?” Elizabeth asked as she looked right at Dom.
“Elijah…”
“What now?” She asked as she rolled her eyes.
“He’s been…watching her and even interrupted once.” He alisema as he clenched his fists in anger.
“Interrupted?” I asked.
“Yes, there’s rules for a reason.” Elizabeth alisema as she turned and smiled at me. “Hello, Alexandra how are you?”
“Yeah someone’s going to have to explain these ‘reasons’ to me..and answer a hell of a lot of questions.” I alisema as I looked from Elizabeth to Dom and back. “Oh, and hello Elizabeth, sorry if I’m coming off rude.”
“She is a little spitfire isn’t she?” Elizabeth alisema as she laughed. “You’ll fit perfectly.”
“Ok.” I alisema as I got really pissed off. “Enough with the little cryptic messages, enough with the jokes…just tell me what’s going on…Dom, please?”
“You’re going to have to tell her ya know?” Elizabeth alisema as she smiled at me.
“I know Elizabeth…but not yet.” Dom alisema as he looked at me and spoke again before I could get upset. “Alex, we have quite a while. Please let me explain when I can, in a different place..if Elijah is truly watching wewe then I can’t say what I want to now…it will only help him.”
“Help him how?” I asked as I took a step closer to him.
“He knows that…”
“Just tell her wewe idiot.” Elizabeth said
“Elizabeth.” Dom alisema with a look that made me want to step back, but I didn’t.
“No, don’t get mad at her.” I alisema as I closed the distance between us. “Please, just tell me what wewe can and I will go with you.”
“Elizabeth, give us a second.” He asked as he reached for my hand and waited until my hand wrapped around his.
“Ok but I won’t be far.” She alisema as if she could defend us somehow.
“Dom?” I asked as I touched his shoulder, hoping he would look at me, just tell me what the big secret was.
“He would try and either turn wewe against me au use wewe somehow to hurt me.” Dom alisema softly as he looked at the ground. “He knows how…important wewe are to me..that it would kill me to not…”
“To not what?” I asked as my pulse raced.
“To not have wewe here, with me.” He alisema as he looked up at me.
I was instantly Lost in my own thoughts, so many things were going through my mind…I had so many maswali that I still needed answered but none of them mattered at this moment. All I could think about was this guy standing in front of me, holding my hand who just told me that he couldn’t live without me. That I didn’t actually know him au anything that was going on here, but deep down that didn’t matter to me..I knew instantly that I felt the same way, that I didn’t want to be away from him..that I wanted to stay here both to find out what was going on and because I didn’t want to be apart from Dom.
“Alex?” Dom asked, the tone in his voice made it obvious that he was getting nervous.
“Sorry,” I said, and as soon as the words came out of my mouth I wished that I could take them back because he took it the wrong way, I could almost feel the hurt and sadness coming out of him.
“It’s ok.” He alisema as he went to pull his hand out of mine.
“No.” I alisema as I held his hand tightly in mine. “Wait, Dom please hear me out.”
“No, it’s ok Alexandra. I understand.”
“No wewe don’t.” I alisema as I stepped so close to him that I could feel the heat coming off of him. “I feel the same way…I don’t know how..or why but I don’t want to leave you, the idea of being away from wewe scares me. The whole time I was gone, after I fell on the ice I was trying to get back here, back to you.”
“Really?” He asked in disbelief.
“Truly.” I alisema as I felt myself blush.
“You’re not just saying it?”
“Why won’t wewe believe me?” I asked, my feelings hurt.
“It’s…” He alisema as he got frustrated. “I thought wewe were going to say no, that wewe didn’t feel the same, that..”
“Dom, what can I do to prove to wewe I feel the same way?” I asked him as I dropped my hands to my sides, unsure what to do with myself.
He looked at me for a sekunde before he leaned down and kissed me, his lips so soft and smooth against mine. I was shocked at first and wasn’t sure how to respond, but something deep in my soul told me that this was right.
