6 Hours Later
I woke up, feeling arms around me. I looked behind me and saw Michael. I blushed and looked to my left and right and realized I was in between his legs. Thank goodness my back was to him, otherwise people would think we were up to something in the tree. Especially the press and their idea of lying about what they'd seen. I turned my head back to Michael and moved some of his hair out of his face with one of my hands. To my surprise, he opened his eyes.
"Hey sleepyhead." I said.
He chuckled a little. "Hey Rebecca." He said.
I looked at my watch and saw that it was 9am. (Me: we went to sleep around 3am.) My eyes went wide a bit. I realized I had to be at work in about 2 hours. Ever since I gave them my rehearsal schedule, they managed to reschedule when I'd go into work. Michael noticed how my eyes were and he was curious.
"What's the matter, Rebecca?"
I looked at him. "I have to be at work soon. They scheduled me in on the days we don't have rehearsal."
I was a bit worried and he could tell.
"Don't worry. I could take wewe to work."
"Thank wewe so much. This means a lot to me."
He smiled and let me go. I climbed down the mti first, then he followed after me. I figured once I got home, no one would be nyumbani so I could bring him inside through the front door...but sadly, we went through my window. Once we got to my room, I found a note on my bed. I looked at it and it wasn't mine. It was from my parents. It said:
Rebecca,
We've gone out for a bit. Congrats on getting the part. Alex told us. Hope your rehearsals yesterday went well. Tell us about it when we get nyumbani tonight. Thanks for letting us know wewe were out.
Love,
Mom and Dad
I placed the note in my nightstand and started getting ready for work...in my bathroom. I wasn't gonna change in front of Michael.
After 30 Minutes
I put my hair in a half ponytail and came out of the bathroom. I was dressed in my maid outfit. I noticed Michael looking at some of my Disney stuff and giggled. He heard my giggle and quickly turned around and blushed at what I was wearing.
"Oh...my...God. What is that?" He asked.
I giggled a little. "This is my work uniform. I work at a café not far from here." I said.
"How far is it?"
"About 20 dakika away. I've always walked there."
Michael got to thinking. 'I could walk her to work then. It gives me zaidi time with her.'
"In that case, I can walk wewe to work." He smiled a little.
"Wouldn't wewe get caught kwa the press?"
"Eh, not if I wear a disguise. But I guess I could live without wearing one for now."
I giggled and we went out of my room and headed downstairs. I went into the jikoni and grabbed my water bottle from the fridge and then Michael and I left the house. He and I got to talking about work and such.
"How long do wewe work?" He asked.
"I work usually a few hours. Sometimes longer if we're short-handed around the café. Good thing is I get loads of tips."
He giggled and he put his arm around my shoulders. We talked about family and what which member is doing. I told him that Eric played sports, Ricky was a musician for the Air Force and also a Tech Sergeant and Alex was an actor.
He told me that Tito and Jermaine played electric and bass, besi guitar, gitaa and Randy played the drums, but aside from that, everyone sings, dances and/or acts. I had told him that it was only me, my dad, Alex and Eric that sang. He was shocked to hear that. (Me: my family is the same. It's only me, my dad, Alex and Eric that sing. My mom is out of tune and Ricky refuses to sing lol not even kidding.)
After 20 Minutes
We got to the café to see my friend, Megan, there. I guessed she didn't see me walk up with Michael because she walked into the café. I rolled my eyes and giggled. I turned to Michael and gave him a hug. He was shocked at first, but hugged back and smiled.
"What time do wewe get off?" He asked.
I looked at him. "Why do wewe wanna know?" I jokingly asked back. "I get off at around 4. Why?"
"Oh, no reason. I may pick wewe up...for a late-ish lunch."
I giggled. "Why must wewe spoil me? You've only known me for, what? 2 days?"
"It felt longer than that." He joked.
I shook my head and chuckled and he and I released the hug. "Thanks for walking me to work, Michael. I really appreciated it."
He smiled and put his hand on my shoulder. His other hand grabbed my chin, leaned my head mbele and he kissed my head.
"Not a problem. I'll be back around 4 with Bill to take wewe to lunch."
"Alright. Later, Michael." I giggled.
He waved and I waved back. He soon left to head back to his house and I headed inside to start working.
With Michael
While walking to his house, his moyo was beating rather rapidly. He put his hand on his chest and felt his heart.
'My God...my moyo is beating so fast. Is it because of Rebecca, though? Could she be the one?' He thought.
Once he got to his house, he got inside and started to think of what to do for lunch.
With Me At The Café
I looked at the clock on the ukuta and saw that it was almost 4. The whole siku on mine and Megan's shift was busy. Soon, Crystal and Kathy came in and took over. Megan left and I was just counting my tips. Soon enough, I heard a horn honking. I put my money up and walked outside to see Michael and Bill. Michael was partly out of the car and he kept glancing at something.
'I wonder what he's got planned...' I thought while walking over to the car.
Bill opened the door and I got in and sat inayofuata to Michael. Michael smiled and put his arm around me. Bill closed the door and started driving. I asked where we were going and he told me that it was a surprise.
About 35 dakika Later
Bill stopped the car and got out and opened Michael's door. Michael got out and went to the shina while I got out. I saw Michael grab a basket and a blanket and he closed the trunk. He led me through the park and found the perfect spot with enough shade and sunshine.
"Really, Michael? A picnic lunch?" I asked.
He smiled a little. "Yeah. It was the only thing I thought of." He replied.
I giggled and helped him unpack the food, cups, plates, plastic ware and drinks. We got to talking again while we ate. We just manage to find out zaidi things about each other every time we talk. He even giggled when I had mentioned it. He told me that he thinks we're always on the same page. I giggled and it was actually true. It's rare when we aren't on the same page.
After Lunch
We threw away, well recycled, our cups, plates and plastic ware and packed everything back into the basket. I picked up the blanket and folded it. We headed back to the car and Bill opened the door and we got in and he drove off.
15 dakika Later
Bill stopped the car and I had turned to Michael.
"Thank wewe so much for lunch. That was really sweet of you." I alisema with a little smile.
He smiled back and kissed my forehead and looked at me in the eyes. "You're welcome, Rebecca. I'll see wewe tomorrow for rehearsals." He said.
"Alright. Later, Mike."
I got out of the car and waved. He waved back and they drove off. I headed inside and changed out of my uniform and into my normal clothes. I sat on my kitanda and felt my moyo pounding like it was gonna jump out of my chest.
'I think Michael became a smooth criminal for sure...because I think he just aliiba my heart.' I thought.
I laid down on my kitanda and looked at the ceiling, trying to figure and sort out my feelings for Michael with only one swali in my mind...is he the right one?

wewe were there, before we came
wewe took the hurt, wewe took the shame
They built the walls to block your way
wewe beat them down, wewe won the siku

It wasn't right, it wasn't fair
wewe taught them all, wewe made them care
Yes wewe were there and thanks to wewe
There's now a door, we all walk through

And we are here, for all to see
To be the best that we can be
Yes I am here...
'Cause wewe were there

After Rehearsals Ended
Michael called Bill to the studio. Janelle's legs were still rather weak and she could still barely walk. She would get a few steps for a while, but then collapse onto the ground. Michael would have to help her tonight with her walking when they go to dinner, but...he was thinking that tonight could be just for him and her so he can get to know her better.
"Hey, Janelle." He said.
"Yes, Michael?" Janelle responded, turning to him.
"Um...well...I was thinking..." He started to blush a little. "Could...could tonight be...you know...just for us? Just wewe and me?"
Janelle seemed...

I finished my song, I saw my fans, I smiled, and I alisema : " Wow, wewe are wonderful!!" a scream escaped . "Aww I upendo you!! I yelled and I could hear "we upendo wewe too!!"
Awww when I say that, I think about someone, an unforgettable someone. So I alisema : "For the finish of this fabulous concert, I will imba my favourite song that I created, Guess what!" "Stop to hide your wings" screamed the crowd. "Yeah!! Just for wewe and for our Angel, of course!" I told them. I ran to the middle of the stage, I closed my eyes and began to sing :

It's not my place, no, it's not my place ~
I know, it's...

Chapter 7

January 13, 2000,

I was hanging out with dad in his recording studio at the ranch. He paused the track that he was working on and had the chef bring us some food. The chef knocked on the door and dad let him inside. He brought us each an egg saladi sandwich, sandwichi and went back to the main house. Dad came over and sat down across from me at the small meza, jedwali that was there.

I alisema "daddy I want to be just like wewe when I grow up!" He asked "you do? In what way do wewe want to be like me?" I alisema "well; I want to be a singer and a dancer who is famous just like you!" He alisema "yeah; it can be awesome...
