 Paul S. Tracey
Paul S. Tracey
If you’re into horror flicks, then you’ll definitely want to remember the name Paul S. Tracey. This rising actor has emerged in two frightening films, the newly released Peter Jakl cannibalism tale “Ghoul” and the experimental indie “Expressway to Your Skull,” screening on the festival circuit.

I recently caught up with Paul S. Tracey to find out zaidi about bringing the fear on these scary projects.

First, tell us about your role in the new cannibalistic horror film “Ghoul.”

PAUL: My character in “Ghoul” is Ryan. He goes to Ukraine with his best friend and girlfriend to shoot a documentary about cannibalism of the 21st century. His family has funded the project so he's somewhat hell-bent on completing the film regardless of what happens.

What would wewe consider your characters ‘best’ quality? And their ‘worst’?

PAUL: I would say my characters best quality is that he's determined. But the same quality is also probably his worst because it blinds him from recognizing some warning signs that things aren't okay around him. It also makes him a little selfish at times.

How was it on set -- ever get creeped out for real?

PAUL: The creepiest scene for me to shoot was probably in the tunnels. We had to walk about 30 dakika into these underground mines to get to the location where Petr Jakl wanted to shoot the scenes. Just being confined in a small space for hours (I was down there for 14 total) was pretty nerve wrecking - especially since I’m slightly claustrophobic.

Now, share with us a little about “Expressway to Your Skull.”

PAUL: "Expressway to Your Skull" tells the story of Ed and Amy, a thrill seeking couple whose impulsive trip to the woods leads them to kuvuka, msalaba paths with a psychotic survivalist. It’s zaidi of an experimental film directed kwa Michael D. Okum.

What’s the biggest lesson wewe learned from working on these scary projects?

PAUL: Probably that there’s no way to rehearse for certain types of moments. You’ve just got to go in and give it your all. I also learned that often in horror films, it isn’t usually as nerve-wrecking for the actor as it is for the audience. A lot of times the characters are unaware of any impending danger until the last dakika whereas the audience has to suffer through the suspense of knowing something bad is about to happen.

And, now just for fun:

What’s your inayopendelewa food?

PAUL: Probably sushi - if I have to choose one.

Cats au dogs?
PAUL: Dogs.

Favorite movie from your childhood.

PAUL: Michael Mann’s Last of the Mohicans.

Tell us one thing that would surprise our readers to learn about you.

PAUL: Growing up, I never wanted to be an actor. It didn’t even kuvuka, msalaba my mind till after I graduated from college with a Business Degree.

How can mashabiki keep up with you?
PAUL: I’m usually pretty good at updating my Social Media Pages.
