Something to keep in mind is that I'm not someone that grew up playing the Mario games au watching the Mario cartoons au the live-action movie. Despite not having much experience with the Mario franchise, I was interested in seeing the film.
In the film, Mario and Luigi are brothers who have started a plumbing business. The two brothers accidentally land in a magical world. Luigi gets kidnapped kwa the villainous Bowser. Bowser is planning on attacking the uyoga Kingdom. Princess Peach, who is the ruler of the uyoga Kingdom, teams up with Mario to save Luigi and the uyoga Kingdom. Along the way, Mario and peach, pichi get accompanied kwa the upbeat Toad and the strong Donkey Kong.
This film has been mocked kwa critics for having a simplistic plot, while mashabiki have been speaking highly of how much fun the film is. I might not be someone that grew up with Mario, but I have to agree with the Mario fans. The critics might be right about the film not having a super complex, deep plot. However, the film is upbeat fun from beginning to end. The underdog story of Mario and Luigi is very sweet and fun. The film shows their rise to heroism, while also inaonyesha how strong and useful Princess peach, pichi can be.
All of the characters in the film are enjoyable to watch. Mario and Luigi are a close duo of heroic brothers. Mario is outgoing, brave and confident, while Luigi is nervous but well-intentioned. Princess peach, pichi steals the show. Her heroism is powerful and impressive, while her style is something that certainly catches the eyes. Bowser is an intimidating, entertaining villain.
When the cast was announced, there was a lot of backlash. Chris Pratt as Mario? That announcement made both mashabiki and non-fans scratch their heads in confusion. Chris Pratt is not exactly the person that people thought should be voicing Mario. A lot of people thought that his performance would hurt the film. However, to my surprise, Chris Pratt actually does a good job. He is able to make Mario sound different from his normal speaking voice. Anya-Taylor Joy shines with grace as Princess Peach. As usual, Jack Black is very energetic and fun. Seth Rogen doesn't sound much different than he usually does, but his Donkey Kong voice still works. Fred Armisen gives a very unrecognizable, funny performance as King Cranky Kong.
The uhuishaji was the main thing that captivated my interest when the film started being advertised. The uhuishaji of the film is incredibly beautiful and colorful. The imaginative characters and their worlds are visual treats. The characters have very charming, stylish, distinct designs. From the unique ubunifu of Mario to the beautiful look of Princess Peach, the characters are filled with visual appeal. The uhuishaji looks particularly impressive when the characters are shown racing.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a film that's filled with good characters, gorgeous uhuishaji and entertainment value. If wewe want an enjoyable, colorful adventure, I highly recommend the film.
