I mean some of it was funny and it was cute I guess, but there is so much hype over it and it really isn't that great of a movie and it doesn't deserve all the hype.

Well, it's not really hyped in Germany, but I've seen it 4 times in the cinema. I loved Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin and Brittany Snow, the plot and their renditions of songs which I usually don't like.
I loved the totally crazy humour and the fact that The Treblemakers were serious competitors which often is not the case in films like this one. Take High School Musical for example. I love the HSM films but Troy and Gabriella were always favoured over Sharpay even though she showed more discipline etc.
I'm sure there are a lot of people going "It's another teen- romance- crap thing!", but I do think it's great.
I love the soundtrack so much!

yes totally agree, I don't think that was funny actually and was boring I think. I finished watching just for I started seeing it.

So overrated! 3 out of 10. And 3 for its soundtrack!
