EXCLUSIVE Hilarie burton on 'Tree Hill' exit: 'It wasn't a rash decision'

Did wewe hear? After six years of angst, heartache, and zaidi angst, Hilarie burton will make her final appearance as Lucas-lovin' muziki mogul Peyton Sawyer on Monday's season finale of One mti Hill. (Her leading man, Chad Michael Murray, will bid farewell in the same episode.) On the eve of her swan song, the onetime TRL hostess is setting the record straight about the reason behind her departure, the "hurtful" rumors that precipitated it, and a certain video that left many of her mashabiki going, "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Ms. Hilarie?" (Warning: Potential spoilers about Monday's finale below.)

There are a lot of rumors flying about why you're leaving. What's the truth?
HILARIE BURTON: There really wasn't a lot of turmoil. It was a fabulous six-year run, which is how long my contract was for, and I feel really lucky to have been a part of the show. So when I hear that there's turmoil au negotiations based on money it kind of hurts my feelings, because it's not what's been going on at all. I think my shabiki base in particular knows that money isn't necessarily a big motivator for me, that's why I work in the world of independent film.

How long have wewe known that wewe were leaving?
BURTON: I've known for a little while. For me, it was definitely an emotional decision. And a professional decision as well. I got really, really lucky. One mti kilima was my very first televisheni audition; it was a fairytale. I feel really lucky to have that level of success right out of the gate.

Just so I'm clear, it was your decision to leave, not the other way around?
BURTON: I think everyone was kind of agreeable about the situation. There were a lot of really wonderful conversations. It wasn't a rash decision; a lot of thought, emotion, and kindness was put into it. I would hope that that's the story that gets out -- that it was a bunch of adults being good to each other and being kind about the decision-making process.

Did The Powers That Be make a concerted effort to get wewe to re-sign?
BURTON: The conversations that they had with me were very compassionate and very sweet. They told me that they valued me, and that meant a lot. And they also wanted me to be happy and challenged and excited. There was some confusion for a little bit as to what was going on, but I think everybody's in a good place now.

Talk to me about the video message wewe made for your mashabiki back in February. It seemed like wewe were maybe saying good-bye. What point were wewe trying to get across?
BURTON: The purpose of that video was to dispel the rumors that were being circulated. I was on your end of it for a very long time when I worked at MTV, and I understand how the rumor mill works. Everybody wants a sensational story. People even back then were blaming it on money, and [on me] being high maintenance… Those rumors were really hurtful. Of anybody on the show, I was the one who was very excited about doing all the extracurricular stuff -- the mall tours, the radio tours, going to the upfronts… I loved my involvement with this show, and I really just wanted my shabiki base to know that I wasn't turning my nose up at this wonderful opportunity I've had for the last six years. There's an ugly trend where actors think they've surpassed the onyesha that made them au the film that made them and badmouth it. I will never say a bad word about One mti Hill. The entire shape of my world changed because of that show, so I'll always be very affectionate toward it.

Have wewe spoken to Chad recently?
BURTON: I was in L.A. last week and we talked. Chad and I are good friends. I won't speak for him, but it was not a rash decision on either of our parts. He's very compassionate toward the onyesha and the fans. It's not an easy decision, but we've got to be grown-ups sometimes. [CMM's rep declined my interview request, saying, "Chad is no longer on the onyesha and has no maoni regarding the new season."]

What was your last siku on the set like?
BURTON: We wrapped together. We were the last two in the last scene, and we opened up a tab across the mitaani, mtaa for our crew to say thank wewe and cried a bunch.

Lucas and Peyton don't really get an official sendoff inayofuata week. Is that disappointing?
BURTON: It's like when wewe leave for college but wewe know your parents still have your bedroom set up. wewe never know if you're going to have to come home... I got really lucky with my character; I got a full-circle story. It was, "Lucas and Peyton: Are they going to be together? Are they not going to be together?" And as we saw in this week's episode, my character got everything she ever wanted.

Might wewe make the occasional guest appearance?
BURTON: Never say never. They didn't kill us. There's nothing vengeful about it, and I think that's because as much as we upendo them, they upendo us back.

What are wewe going to do now?
BURTON: One mti kilima was a great learning opportunity for me, and I'm excited to go and apply that elsewhere and see where I end up. I'm hoping the mashabiki support whatever my inayofuata endeavor is. I'm actually curious what they want me to do... On the blog that I have for my production company, we're producing a web series that we're going to start shooting on Memorial Day. We've also got a televisheni onyesha that we're turning into a graphic novel, and we've got a film we're raising money for. I'm busy. And I'm keeping my business down in North Carolina. I'm still going to be in the neighborhood; it'll just be in a different capacity.

Last question, and it's a biggie: What happens to Peyton's record company?
BURTON: Who knows? Maybe she'll take it with her. I get to be a shabiki of the onyesha now, which is cool. I get to sit back and be a fan. I'm personally very excited to see where it goes. I understand they're introducing some new characters... I have no doubt they will come up with something to reinvent the onyesha yet again.

Tonight we say goodbye to "One mti Hill" after nine years on the air, but the cast and crew alisema goodbye in mid-November when picture wrapped on the 187th episode in Wilmington, NC. Now, over four months later, creator Mark Schwahn and the cast we've come to think of as Marafiki have moved on to new projects.

We realize that emotions are still raw right now, but when you're ready -- here's where wewe can find those familiar faces.

Mark Schwahn: Schwahn is currently back in North Carolina overseeing production on his pilot, "Shelter," which is a contender for The CW's Fall 2012 schedule. The pilot,...

We wish we could ripoti that last night, Hilarie burton told us at the Breaking Dawn premiere that she would be returning to One mti kilima for the series finale, but alas, she still will be a no-show.

We asked burton (who attended the premiere with beau Jeffrey Dean morgan (Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, Weeds) where she thinks Peyton Scott would be now since driving off into the sunset with her hubby Lucas and their newborn baby.

"She's probably super pregnant with four au five," she tells us. "She's having a Lucas Scott little, I'm sure!"

That's an intense scenario, and morgan definitely agreed....

The collective squeal of excitement that erupted when The CW announced Chad Michael Murray would return to One mti kilima during the ninth & final season could be heard from California to, well, mti Hill. I know many people including me don't know which mwaka au how old they are in mti hill, but basing on 4x02 where they onyesha Brooke's 18th birthday i might be able to make sense of it after all

If Brooke is eighteen in S4 than the time would be like this:

First season: Brooke is sixteen
sekunde season: Brooke is seventeen
Third season: Brooke is seventeen
Fourth season: Brooke is eighteen
Fifth season(after a 4 mwaka jump): Brooke is twenty-two
Sixth season: Brooke is twenty-three
Seventh season(after a 14 months jump): Brooke is twenty-five
Eighth season: Brooke is twenty-six and in the season finale after the 1 mwaka time jump she is twenty-seven.

Hopefully i got it right! Oh, and it's mwaka 2014. I think
When we spoke with "One mti Hill" boss Mark Schwahn early in the season, he told us that he was approaching Season 8 as the show's final bow. "Do I think that this is our final season? Right now, my instinct says yes," he said. "But anything can happen."

Well, OTHers, we've got some potentially great news for you. We just got off the phone with Schwahn, and he's imba a whole new tune. "I think we all really enjoyed this season, and when I say 'we' I mean the cast, and the producers, and everybody," he tells Zap2it. "I think that there's real interest in Season 9 from the studio and network."...

Everyone's inayopendelewa "One mti Hill" couple, Nathan (James Lafferty) and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti), have certainly weathered the storm.

But when a relationship has survived a high school marriage, a teen pregnancy, murderous in-laws, an ill-timed tamasha tour, the NBA, a bout with depression, and an endless string of promiscuous psychos... what's left?

"Marital bliss," Lafferty tells Zap2it. "At this point, we've been going so long, and it just feels like every curveball that could have been thrown at the Nathan and Haley relationship has been thrown. What else could possibly come at them?"...

!’s Watch with Kristin blog reported late on Friday that the couple formerly known as Leyton will probably be returning to One mti kilima before Season 8 is through. The original plan was to bring them back for Brooke’s (Sophia Bush) two-episode wedding (planned to air sometime during the first 13 episodes of the season), but now that The CW has ordered six additional scripts, Murray and burton might return closer to the season (series?) finale. onyesha creator Mark Schwahn also told E! that bringing other characters back would not be out of the question, so Dear Mr. Schwahn, we'll take more...

Last Tuesday (May 18), a siku after the seventh season finale of "One mti Hill" aired, The CW announced that the series will be back this fall for an eighth year.

Though the show's cast and crew had the luxury of being renewed early over the last couple seasons, that was not the case this time around.

According to onyesha creator Mark Schwahn, the decision really did come down to the last possible sekunde and, though Monday's (May 17) finale included some pretty serious cliffhangers, the producers truly didn't know if they would have the opportunity to tie them up.

Schwahn, who says he and his cast...

Haley and Jake were in the middle of a passionate make-out session, to say the least. He smiled at her, through their kisses, running his hands over her arms, beginning to lift up her shirt.

She put her hands over his, so he could no longer complete that task. Still kissing her, however, he managed release her grip on his hands, once again working his way up her shirt.

“Jake, stop.” She broke the kiss for a second. He nodded, pulling her face back towards his.

But in mere seconds, his hands were down kwa her shati again, trying to lift it up again.

Haley broke the kiss, sitting up. “Jake,...

Thick pelts of rain dropped down from the blue sky, so strong that they even left dents in the hoods of some cars. wanyama forced to stay outside huddled beneath trees for shelter, and young children forced to stay inside pouted without end, so even their parents felt helpless.

Cafés and restaurants opened with arms spread wide. Hot chokoleti and warm coffee seemed to be much zaidi appealing then wet benches and cold rivers. Some kids walked to school with uncomfortable rubber rain boots and ponchos, frowns permanently embedded upon their faces, while others cavorted around in puddles, shrieking...
