The inayofuata morning, John woke up to a delicious smell. Caryn was cooking French toast and sausage for breakfast. He put on his glasses, stretched, and sat up. He then said, "Good morning, Caryn. Something smells good." She said, "Good morning, John. I hope wewe like French toast and sausage." He said, "I upendo them. It's been a long time since I've had French toast and sausage." She smiled and said, "I'm glad to fix it for you." After a pause, she said, "Good news! I heard on the news this morning that the interviewer who mocked your relationship with me and your facial scar got fired." John said, "That's great news. I thought I heard wewe turn the TV on this morning." Caryn said, "I did. I thought about waking wewe up to tell wewe the good news, but I wewe looked so comfortable, so I decided to let wewe continue sleeping." He said, "You could have woken me up. I would've just gone back to sleep." As they sat down to breakfast, John said, "Thanks for getting me through this rough patch, Caryn." She said, "You're welcome, John. I was happy to help." He said, "I'm very sorry for everything you've been through." She said, "And I'm sorry for everything you've been through, too." He then said, "But that's all behind us. We all have our scars, but they don't make us who we are." She said, "That's right. They only mean that we were able to overcome what hurt us."
