Ramos contract renewal event underway at the Bernabéu

Sergio Ramos will today enjoy the day he´s dreamed of. At 1.30pm CEST his contract renewal will be celebrated in the presidential box as he signs with Real Marid until 2020. The club made it official on twitter. The player will be accompanied by his entire family and Florentino Perez, club president will attend along with a representation from the supporter´s club.

He will get the same treatment as Cristiano when he renewed his contract two summers ago (September 15 2013). Curiously, he and Cristiano are the only players who get to enjoy an official club event for their renewal; Benzema, Varane, Nacho, Carvajal, Modric and Marcelo (who all put pen to paper in previous months) only had official statements published on the website with a photo next to the president with jerseys showing the year until which the player will be at the club.

The deal was closed on Wednesday in the offices at Valdebebas where the player, his brother and agent René Ramos and Real Madrid general director José Ángel Sánchez reached an agreement. The madridista captain will sign until 2020 and will earn 10 million euro a season, the amount he asked for from the beginning of negotiations.
