A/N: So, I heard this song because link on Devianart drew a link about it. Thank wewe Burdge! She listens to awesome music, and it really made me think of Percy and Annabeth. (Ps- the letters aren't blue for no reason- click on it, go look at her gallery, she's epic!)

I watched wewe sleeping quietly in my bed
Reciprocal hostages. The Greeks kept Jason. The Romans kept Percy. If one of them died, the other was at risk. It set Annabeth’s teeth on edge even if it was her ideas, but she knew it was the perfect plan. Nobody was going to risk neither Percy nor Jason.

But for one night, one night only, they were back in their own common grounds. Percy was sick of the roman ugali, supu nzito which they served at every meal, Jason missed it. Percy wanted a night just talking and relaxing and free, Jason wanted to participate at a meeting with the legates to catch up. Reyna and Annabeth had crossed eyes once and they knew that there was another reason. For one night; they could find out if things had derailed, au if everything still fit together. For one night; they had Percy and Jason back.

Percy was exhausted and he’d been asking swali after swali and they’d swapped stories and quests and jokes, and with the curse of Achilles (which he’d been ignoring), he’d just collapsed in the girl’s cabin, kibanda on the ship which they were talking in. Annabeth had let him be. She’d take first shift of watch until she woke him up.

You don't know this now but there's some things that need to be said
She looked at Percy through the open door. Took a deep breath. Then a step in. She shook his shoulder. He asked a swali but she motioned for him to shut up, and dragged him to the deck.

And it's all that I can hear, It's zaidi than I can bare
“There are some things wewe really have to know. You’re going to be shocked, wewe might not believe me but you’ve got to know that I’ve been your best friend for years and I would never, ever hurt you.”
And so she explained.
She even told him about the Titan war.
She had to include Rachel and couldn’t lie to Percy, who would know anyways.
She told him about them.
“So… Are we still a couple?”
“I don’t know Percy,” Annabeth said. “Am I a stranger to you?”
“A bit.”
“So kwa logic, you’re not in upendo with me. So we can’t be a couple.”
“No, no… I mean… I remember you. I remember the best of you, and the way wewe laugh, how wewe let your hair down when you’re upset, and all that. It’s just…”
“What?” Annabeth asked, her moyo fluttering. She hoped her voice didn’t display that fact. “Ask any question.”

What if I fall and hurt myself?
Would wewe know how to fix me

“You can’t hurt yourself, except in the Achilles heel. Have wewe remembered where that is?”
“No, I didn’t go stabbing myself to check either.” Percy said. Annabeth laughed and pointed to a spot on his back.
“Do wewe feel my hand hovering over it?”
“Yeah…”
“Right there. And if you’re hurt wewe always go to the ocean. If Travis au Connor smuggled some for you, you’ve got koki with you.”

What if I went and Lost myself?
Would wewe know where to find me

Sally and Paul’s apartment, Montauk, cabin, kibanda 3, the beach, the mtumbwi, canoe lake, Miami, the Empire State building… Annabeth let out a string of his favourite places to be.
“Too bad wewe weren’t at any of those places.”

If I forgot who I am,
Would wewe please remind me oh?

“You’re Perseus Jackson, retriever of Zeus’ lightning bolt and the Golden Fleece, bearer of the sky, son of Poseidon, Prophecy child and wewe helped slay the Titan Kronos.” Annabeth said. “That’s what wewe are to the gods, and that’s what you’ll be in legends. But to me you’re loyal, brave, funny, bashful sometimes, modest, sweet, a leader. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but the best of the best.”

Cause without wewe things go hazy
“Oh. I… I forgot half of those things.” Percy said. Annabeth looked down, a little ashamed, bashful maybe.
“Yeah…” She said. “I just thought wewe might want to- wewe know…”
“Yeah, thanks Annabeth, a ton.” Percy said. “We should- well, wewe should go back down, I’ll just take the shift I guess.”
“Okay. Sweet dreams, Seaweed brain. I mean, um, Percy.”

I watched wewe sleeping quietly in my bed
They’d wanted to try out the other Greeks in legion training. They wanted to prove themselves worthy of it. The twelfth legion was the only one willing to take them all in (well, Reyna was the only praetor willing to), so they were all in. Piper and Annabeth were at the far end of the tent, their sleeping rolls right inayofuata to Reyna’s. Both Annabeth and Reyna had daggers and knives near their pillows, ready to grab something in the middle of the night. Percy thought they were funny that way.

You don't know this now but there's some things that need to be said
I upendo you, might be one.
    Was that insane?
She was a stranger to him. But there was that protective feeling in his stomach when a legionnaire would pick on her and she alisema nothing back because she wouldn’t give them a reason to punish her. There was that protective feeling when a guy in legion 12 had breathed out ‘whoa, I’d heard Greece was beautiful but this…’ to tell him to leave Annabeth alone. Was he imagining it? Forcing it because of what she’d alisema to him on the dock of the Argo II?

And it's all that I can hear, It's zaidi than I can bare
He still had questions, and she had answers. She was the only one who knew it, but it seemed so hard for him to go up to her and ask what his mom’s name was, if Mr D had gotten his name right at least once, au if Clarisse and he were on better terms. It killed him. But if he moved, a bunch of Roman soldiers who needed their sleep and knew it would be woken up and not thrilled about it.
The inayofuata morning he pulled her aside.
“Annabeth,” he alisema once everyone was out of ear’s reach, “I want to spend time with wewe again.”
“Like?” She asked.
“Like… Get to know you. Again.” Percy said. “I know that it’d suck for you, but I figure I was a happy guy before, and I was a happy guy with wewe around, so wewe know... Can we be friends?” Annabeth grinned and punched his arm.
“What else would I be, Seaweed brain? An enemy? But when wewe say that it’d suck for me…” Her face fell. “It would. And I’ve been hurt before. So…”

What if I fall and hurt myself?
Would wewe know how to fix me
What if I went and Lost myself?
Would wewe know where to find me
If I forgot who I am,
Would wewe please remind me oh?

“You’re Annabeth Jocelyn Chase, daughter of Athena and architect extraordinaire. wewe were the brains behind the brawn in the Titan war, and the architect behind the city of the gods, the one who kept the hero out of trouble and went to hell and back to make the world better,” Percy said. “Or that’s what the gods and story tellers will say. To people who know you, wewe can do anything. wewe can fix any problem, figure your way in and out of messes, fight until the end, and find the loophole that nobody else sees. wewe can plan and wewe can understand people and things. You’re the person I trust to no ends and the reason I didn’t die a long time ago, au give up. Because wewe never give up, and wewe keep things together when everything is falling.”

He had no idea where that came from, but he knew it was true the moment that it came out of his mouth.

Cause without wewe things go hazy
“Yeah. I guess I sort of Lost that when I didn’t have Seaweed brain grounding me to the real world.”
[ Lyrics from: link ]
What if I fall and hurt myself?
“You never will, because I’ll always be nearby with the cap.”
“I actually thought that on a quest. ‘I wish she were close with that cap, herufi kubwa and knife’. Then I got a migraine going ‘what the Hades- what cap?’”

Would wewe know how to fix me
“Make wewe smile, then wewe start being optimistic and wewe talk yourself out of it. Gods know that nobody else talks wewe in and out of anything else.” Percy said. He didn’t know where this all came back from, but it did, and it seemed so stupid that he forgot that about her. How could he forget how to make Annabeth smile?

What if I went and Lost myself?
“You can’t get lost, I’ll be watching wewe now, I don’t trust wewe anymore.” Annabeth joked.

Would wewe know where to find me
“The beach. wewe like it even better than the mtumbwi, canoe lake. It relaxes and energises you, all at once.”

If I forgot who I am,
Would wewe please remind me oh?

“Seaweed brain.”
“Wise girl.”
