I feel the same way about them as I do about unhappy endings, either way it all depends on how well written it is. A happy ending that doesn't fit and seems to be a waste of dramatic potential can be painful to watch, but so can an ending where tragedy has been clumsily shoved in to try to force feelings from the viewers. Whether or not it's good for me depends less on the final tone and more on whether it feels organic to the plot, well handled and realistic to the level of danger vs skill of the characters involved. As long as it's well written, makes sense and fits with the theme the show held up until that point I'm ok with the end being happy or sad and I think either could work for spn. Well, for the happy ending side I'm not talking 'hugging it out with the devil then going on a picnic' happy, but still, you know what I mean :)

I just imagined Sam & dean having a picnic with lucifer XD I agree with a lot of what you said, I'm just thinking that the writers have it it in for them. But I never loose faith in Kripke :D I'm just hoping they level the happy with the sad since they've been through so much heartache.

I'm probably in the minority here but i don't really want to see a happy ending on the show. i agree with asvini that if the writeing is well done then it could go either sad or happy, and i trust that the spn writers could give us that, but for me personally if it had the boys rideing off into the sunset it would be a let down.

this show has been filled with death and sadness since the beginning, to end it on a high note doesn't seem realistic to me. and one of the many reasons i love this show is despite the fact that it deals with urban legends it puts a realistic spin on everything.

my love for the boys wants them to have a happy ending, but my love for the show wants the boys to go out in a blaze of glory.
