At least I hope so. And although angels can cause the streetlight to pop, as I recall Crowley has done the same thing so...it could be a demonic force as well. Maybe he's just got a bit of demon juice left in him.

Def Sam!!! I’m not exactly able to explain why,but I’m sure it was Sam,no Lu,no demon or angel…..for the streetlight thing,yeah suspicious,but someone had to brought him back,right?and he made him appear there,right?so could be the one ho brought him back to made the streetlight pop???

Or a demon! I'm sure it was not a human being at the end of the episode. Just look at his eyes-they weren't look like our lovely Sam's puppy eyes!

I want him to be simply Sam, but I really don't know, after everything, he must be affected somehow, I think...

he drank a lot of demon blood -- so I don't think he's 100% human, but he's definitely just Sam.

I hope. Maybe a demon, maybe Lu. Where'd you get the idea of Sam as an angel? I can't see any heavenly angel using him as a vessel, not after Lu using his meat suit.

I really don't see him being simply Sam. You don't go to hell and come back the same person. Especially when Lucifer himself was inside him, and possibly still is in some faction.

ppl did y'all see how he was at the end of the episode??
he didn't seem like sam to me i mean the light goes on&off then his here i just don't think he'll be back as sam!
how would sam get out of that hole that quick,Right!i mean if we've waited a lil bit longer then sam was back i'd say maybe sam did something got him out but in a minute he was in the hole N' the Next minute his not!! scary soooo not sam!

I don't really think he can be the same after Hell... Especially a Hell that "would make Dean's tour look like Wonderland" and all. Besides, time is different in Hell, right? From Sam's point of view, he could be in there for thousands of years. That experience would certainly explain the blank, Sam-less look.
