If the triangles are NOT the focus of the show and are dealt in a way that doesn't undermine the intelligence of the viewers, they do indeed give a boost to the show. If they serve to give layers to the characters involved, then the end justifies the means.

I don't think there's a single plot or a single event that can ruin a show all on its own as long as it's done well. When you start getting plots that are just poorly written and character acting in ways they would never act, that's when shows get ruined.

I quit watching tons of shows because they became all about relationships and junk and quit focusing on individual characters. It's just not appealing to me.

Not at all,its just one some get hurt all the time.

Only if it's not dragged out way to long, then the show will become a soap opera. Also, it should not change the theme of the show, it can only be a sub-plot.

But i can't imagine a tv show without 1 at least love triangle
