KataraLover picked The 2005 movie version:
I think they really updated her perfectly. The book version was great, but she was also too easily angered and kind of over-the-top to where she's kind of a bratty child. This version was more of what she should've been, very icy and not as emotional because of how cold hearted she is. She has her angry moments but was never over-the-top. She also wasn't the one to attack Edmund and threaten him when they first met, it was her dwarf. I mean, in the book it made Edmund look like an idiot to think she was a good person and trust her after acting like that. This version stops her dwarf from killing him and was MUCH MORE convincing with her deceit of Edmund without making him look like an idiot.

When she was talking to Aslan about the deep magic she was again over-the-top and angry with explaining, unlike the movie version that was calm and confident that she'd get her way. In the book, Aslan was the calm one and even told her to explain but in the movie was slightly irritated. Plus when Aslan roared because Jadis asked how she would know his promise would be kept, she ran away in a cowardly fashion in the book, but in the movie managed to keep her dignity like a true villain should.

In the book she was said to have dark hair and a golden crown. But in this one she has an ice crown, which better suits her freezing the land. Plus the actress suggested making Jadis blonde with blue eyes because the Pevensies father was fighting in a war against Nazis, so it represented them also being part of their parents war by having her look like a Nazi. This book is meant to symbolize a lot of Christian religion aspects. So having her look like a Nazi to make it seem like they're fighting their parents battle is similar to how we all have to fight temptation, something the first two people on Earth, Adam and Eve, failed at.

Both are great, but they really improved an already awesome character in the movie adaptation.
