Who else agrees with me that if wewe didn't read the book wewe couldn't really enjoy the movie as much?

Hunger Games Majibu

Yeah, I agree.. Cause people who didn't read the book don't really seem to understand Katniss' point of view in that particular scene. I know that because my family and Marafiki keep on asking me about what is gonna happen next, au even just a simple thing like who is that and what is she doing...

I both agree and disagree.

As a shabiki of the books, I was really looking mbele to the film and seeing the things I'd pictured in my head for so long come to life. For that reason, I was completely psyched about seeing it and geeked out the entire time I was at the theater.

However, the fact that I am such a shabiki of the vitabu also hindered my enjoyment of the film because I was so busy comparing it to the book in my head, I couldn't help but be disappointed that certain things were left out (the Avox girl, for example). I almost wished that I hadn't read the book yet, so that I could simply enjoy the movie and not constantly be comparing it to the books.

So while I think that people who haven't read the vitabu are definitely missing out, I also envy them a bit, because they can enjoy the movie for what it is without feeling like something's missing.

Me!! When I went to see it, I went with a group of friends. Two of them hadn't read any of the books. (I couldn't believe it!! Haha) anyway, I ended up having to sit between them, and every two dakika they would ask stuff like, "Who is that?" au "What does that mean?" I, on the other hand, knew exactly what was happening because I could remember that part clearly from the book and remember her emotions at that point. For someone who had not read the books, this would be a hard movie to follow, Espesially sense the concept (you know, after the fall of The US, and how kids kill other kids...) is so hard to grasp. I do think that the movie was meant for the mashabiki of the book, not some lazy person who just watches the movie. (no offence to anyone who just saw the movie) To me, sinema from vitabu are truely for the readers to see the book through different eyes, to interpret it in a whole new way, to SEE the words come to life, and I think the Hunger Games movie did that fairly well. I don't suggest seeing the movie before the book, because wewe won't really be able to follow it, and it's kind of hard to understand.

Yeah, maybe.. I guess it depends on the type of person. But yeah, if wewe know the whole storyline and the movie turns out to be different, it could upset you.
But the movie was pretty great with the plot so I liked it, even though it missed a few things.
