why do they call the hunger games the hunger games? its not a competition where the hungriest person wins...

It says the Games are contests of sorts to see who is the most fit to survive under extreme circumstances (disease, cold, dehydration, wild animals, opponents who are zaidi fit to survive, HUNGER & STARVATION), etc.
The winner and its nyumbani district are bathed in riches and EXTRA FOOD.

It's called hunger games because the winner is the tribute most hungry for the other tributes blood (thats what i assumed)

i thought it was because the iorigins of the game was the war and the war caused hundreds 2 go hungry and starve 2 death.....

because they are hungry in the games, and being killed isnt the only way to ide, they can starve too

'Hunger' doesn't necessarily mean 'need to eat'.
I think it's meant to be associated with the hunger to kill, the hunger to win. From the Capitol's perspective, of course.
So, in this case:
Hunger does not = the need to eat and drink
...but...
Hunger = a feeling of 'need'

If wewe don't understand, think of the phrase 'blood-thirsty eyes'. It doesn't mean that the eyes need to drink blood because they're thirsty, it means that the eyes sends a message of the person wanting to kill.
