The training isn't much to look at on the screen. Just a bunch of teenagers in black outfits throwing heavy objects around and playing with weapons, and most of them look bored. Three days of trying to get the Gamemakers' attention. Not much of it. They're feasting on buffets of extravagant meals and guzzling wine.
We don't get to see the private sessions, but later in the siku we get to see everyones' scores. I wait anxiously to see Peeta's. Eight! Peeta got an eight in his training! inayofuata is his coounterpart, Katniss. Everyone on screen, including Caesar Flickerman, who hosts the interviews, is puzzled. "Eleven." She got eleven in training? How? I guess we'll never know; private sessions are strictly private. Well, we'll have to wait for zaidi from Katniss until tonight, Caesar says. For the rest of the day, I hang out in the Mellark's bakery. They seem proud of Peeta, if not a little nervous.

Finally, the televisheni is on, and the three of us are entranced kwa Caesar Flickerman. Him and his blue hair and pure white teeth and sparkling suits and eloquence and suave when talking to the tributes. I don't pay much attention to the other tributes' interviews. He always laughs at their bad jokes, feels for them.

Then, Katniss makes her appearance. Her long brown hair is braided back in twists and knots. Her arms are bronzed and glittery, her lips frosty and shimmery. The dress she wears is a long, one shoulder, red and machungwa, chungwa and dhahabu number. Cinna must be thinking of moto for her outfits. The crowd "oohs" and "aahs" when she comes on stage. Caesar welcomes her and starts; he only has three minutes. She seems nervous but likable. She gushes about how wonderful everything is in the Capitol. Then he asks about the reaping. About volunteering for her sister, Primrose. All she can say is, "I lover her zaidi than anything. I couldn't let her get hurt." Everyone is touched. Soon, Katniss goes to sit down.

Now Peeta will be interviewed. He appears, wearing a tuxedo adorned with flames. The crowd is transfixed. Peeta is good at interviews; he likes to talk to people and laugh with them. He and Caesar get along well, laughing as they smell each other, wewe know, bantering. Being Peeta.
"Peeta, I need wewe to be honest. Is there a special girl back home? Perhaps, a girlfriend?"
Peeta hesitates, but shakes his head. I am extremely intrigued now.
It seems Caesar is too. "Is that so? Well, I don't believe that for a second! Look at that handsome face! Peeta. Come on."
Peeta sighs. "Well...there is this one girl. I've always been transfixed on her since we were little, but I'm not sure she even knew I existed until the reaping."
The crowd sighs in sympathy for him. They can relate to his story.
Caesar responds, "Here's what wewe do. Peeta, all you've got to do is go out there and win these Games. When wewe get home, she'll have to be with you. How about that?"
"Well, Caesar, I thank wewe for the thought, but winning...won't really help in my case."
"Why ever not?" Caesar asks, mystified.
Peeta blushes red as a beet, then manages to get out, "Because...because...because she c-came here with me."
No one makes a sound, breathes even. Including me. The camera finds the girl he's been "transfixed on since we were little," Katniss. She blushes and hides her face in her hands.

Right now, I'm shocked. Really. I don't breathe au blink au make a sound. All I can do is stare at the screen absentmindedly and let the words Peeta just uttered bounce around in my head wildly. How? Did he really just say he's always loved [i]Katniss?[i] What about me? I've always been there with Peeta, and everyone has always known we would spenf a long time together. Is it true? I don't know, and right now, I don't want to know. All I want to do is crawl into kitanda and try to answer the question: What did I do (or not do) for him to proclaim his true upendo for Katniss?
