Alicia Markovich

Fifteen-year-old Alicia Markovich was last seen on April 26, 1987 in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. At the time of her disappearance, her parents were divorced and Alicia's mom had custody of her.

Alicia was visiting her dad when they got into an argument that night about her grades in school, her friends and her mom's request for an increase in child support. She left the house and her dad called after her, telling her to come back home by 8:00 p.m., but she never did.

Alicia was reported missing the next day and her case was originally classified as a runaway, but her mom said that she had no previous history of running away, she wasn't streetwise & couldn't have survived on her own.

The police think that Alicia was possibly murdered on the same day she was last seen. Her mom believes that she was murdered deliberately and thinks she knows who killed her, but the person involved in her case has not been charged with anything or named a suspect.

In October of 2000 (13 years after her disappearance), Alicia's dad got a letter from New Bedford, New Hampshire, saying that Alicia was killed and her body was put in a certain place; however, the police were unable to find proof of that and decided that the letter was a hoax.

Alicia's case is classified as an endangered missing person.
