Kevin Andrew Collins - Child Find of America

Ten-year-old Kevin Collins was last seen on February 10, 1984 in San Francisco, California. He was sitting on a bench at a bus stop on the corner of Oak Street and Masonic Avenue waiting for a bus to take him home from basketball practice.

Kevin's 11-year-old brother, Gary usually accompanied him to basketball practice, but he was sick that day. He was seen talking to a tall blonde man with a large black dog. Two men, Jon Dunkle and Dan Therrien were named as possible suspects in his disappearance; however, Dunkle was never charged in Kevin's case and Therrien died from natural causes in 2008.

The police don't believe that Kevin ran away from home. He had a good relationship with his family and wasn't having any other problems except for being bullied at school. Five years after he went missing, his parents divorced. A memorial service was held for him in 1994.

Kevin's dad, David founded a missing children's organization called the Kevin Collins Foundation; it closed down in 1996 due to financial constraints. He has since moved out of the United States, but Kevin's mom, Ann still lives in the local area.

In 2005, an identity thief pled guilty to stealing Kevin's name while applying for a passport in his name. In 2013, police served a search warrant on a house located on Masonic Avenue. The house's concrete floor was removed after cadaver dogs indicated the possibility of remains which turned out to be from an animal and not a human.

Kevin's case is classified as a non-family abduction.
