Without a trace: the story of Monica Carrasco, part 1 | Yourbasin

Sixteen-year-old Monica Carrasco was last seen on October 2, 2003 in Balmorhea, Texas at her aunt and uncle's house.

The night before she went missing, two of her cousins saw Monica go to bed at 11:00 p.m. and checked on her at 1:30 a.m., and she was in her bed asleep. By 7:30 a.m., she was gone along with her bible.

Monica suffered from depression and anorexia nervosa after her father died from bone cancer. After she was hospitalized, she went to live with her aunt and uncle because she was angry at her mother; however, Monica's mother said that their relationship problems weren't serious. Her aunt and uncle suspect that Monica may have become disoriented from the medications she took, left their house and got a ride with a passing motorist.

Five months before her disappearance, Monica was allegedly harassed by a bus driver, but he has been ruled out as a suspect. Her uncle took a lie detector test, but failed it. Monica's case is classified as an endangered missing person.
