Twenty-one-year-old Alyssa McLemore was last seen on April 9, 2009 in Kent, Washington. Her grandmother spoke to Alyssa on the phone that day at 6:30 that evening. Alyssa's mom was dying from scleroderma and her grandmother called her to say that her mom's condition was getting worse.

Alyssa told her grandmother that she would come home. Later that day, a witness reported seeing her near 30th Avenue South and Kent-Des Moines Road, an area that is frequented by prostitutes and their customers. The witness saw a green 1990s model pickup truck approach Alyssa. She has a history of arrests for prostitution.

Three days after Alyssa went missing, her mom died, but her family couldn't get in contact with her. On April 10, 2009, authorities discovered that Alyssa's cell phone dialed 9-1-1 at 9:15 PM. The 9-1-1 dispatcher heard a woman's voice asking for help and a male voice in the background, telling her to "come here" and "I'll kill you"; however, the caller hasn't been identified.

Alyssa's case is classified as an endangered missing person and she is considered to be in danger. She is of African-American and Native American descent, and has a scar on her stomach.
