Seventeen-year-old Janice Fullam was last seen on October 30, 1981 in Smithtown, New York leaving a friend's house and heading to a local bar where she planned to meet her brother, Jimmy.

Despite being underage at the time, Janice used a false ID to get into the bar. She and Jimmy were planning on going to a nightclub in New York, but Janice never came to the bar to meet him and hasn't been seen since.

At the time of her disappearance, she was a senior at Smithtown High School West. She had a naive, trusting nature and would often hitchhike. She was hired as a waitress at a local restaurant and had a good relationship with her boyfriend.

However, Janice smoked and sold marijuana. She was arrested three times for selling LSD to an undercover police officer on three different occasions: once at her home and twice at her school. Janice pled guilty to one count to the drug charges as a part of a plea bargain and faced the possibility of spending a year in jail. She was reportedly afraid of going to jail, but her lawyer believed that she would get off lightly because she had no previous criminal record.

The police assumed that Janice ran away to avoid facing possible jail time and issued a warrant for her arrest, but her family & boyfriend believe that she might've met with foul play since she left all of her belongings behind and only had less than $1 in cash on the night she went missing.

Janice's disappearance is classified as a endangered missing person. She was last seen wearing a blue & red striped pullover shirt, tightfitting jeans and a maroon leather jacket. Her brown hair was frosted in the front at the time of her disappearance and she has an overbite.
