Kaylah Hunter and Kristian Justice

Six-year-old Kaylah Hunter and her 7-month-old half brother, Kristian Justice went missing on May 24, 2014 in Detroit, Michigan along with their mother, Alicia Fox. At the time, they were living with Alicia's husband, Erin Maurice Justice.

Prior to their disappearance, Alicia moved out with the kids. Kaylah's father supposedly got a text message from Alicia on June 3, 2014, but the authorities don't think that she sent the message. After Kaylah missed her kindergarten graduation, the three of them were reported missing to the police on June 6, 2014.

On June 9, 2014, Alicia was found deceased in the basement of a vacant house located on the west side of Detroit where she had been shot twice in the head, but the kids were nowhere to be found. Two days later on June 11, 2014, Erin was arrested and charged with murdering Alicia. He has a history of drug & weapons offenses and violence against women. He pled guilty to several traffic violations on June 2, 2014.

Authorities believe that Erin killed Alicia in their home sometime between May 25, 2014 and May 27, 2014. A bullet hole lodged in the wall and blood splattered on the ceiling of the upstairs bedroom was discovered. Erin's childhood friend, Timothy Bernard Jones (who was later charged with tampering evidence, concealing a death and accessory to murder) helped him hide Erin's body.

Erin told the police that Kaylah and Kristian were alive at the time. In September of 2015, he pled guilty to second-degree murder and a felony weapons charge, and was sentenced to 40-to-80 years in prison.

Kaylah and Kristian's cases are classified as endangered missing people due to the circumstances involved in their disappearances.
