Fifteen-year-old Sophie Reeder was last seen on May 19, 2017 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was walking by herself down Davie Boulevard near the Brightline tracks and heading eastbound past a business located between the 100 and 400 blocks of west Davie Boulevard. She has not been seen since.

Sophie previously ran away from home for a day. She has two cell phones, but neither of them have been active since she disappeared. The last cell phone ping was discovered in the vicinity of south 11th Court.

Prior to her disappearance, Sophie's parents were divorced and she lived with her dad. She was experiencing mood swings and was seeing a therapist. She briefly attended Stranahan High School, but later transferred to a virtual school and took online classes.

After her disappearance, drugs, alcohol, stockings and garter belts were discovered in her bedroom. There was also a calendar with the date, May 19th marked. Prior to her disappearance, Sophie called a man from the neighborhood named Jay Jennings where she would buy marijuana from his apartment.

On the day she went missing, Sophie visited Jay's apartment before heading home. Her phone records show that she called Jay at 3:07 a.m. and was at his home until 9:13 a.m.  Jay and his brothers (who all have criminal backgrounds) were questioned in Sophie's disappearance, but they deny any involvement in her case.

The police discovered evidence on Sophie's computer that she may have been the victim of an online predator or a human trafficker. Sophie visited websites about finding "sugar daddies" and told her friends about having sex with them, saying that one man paid her $400.

As of 2023, Sophie is still missing and foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
