Raoul is a nice , loving and brave guy, I tghink he`s underestimated...
Besides, I have a question about him: in ALW version when he approaches the Phantom`s lair but not yet noticed by Phantom , he has a wound on his left shoulder. What happened to him? there was even no one to fight with...
I am awfully sorry I can`t exctract a picture from my dvd to prove it, but if you want to check you should look 01.57.35 second in the movie or some moments further.

It might be from the sword fight earlier in the movie with the Phantom... because I've heard somewhere that wounds like that tend to seep when people are stressed, or something like that. Or maybe they made a mistake, because there are A LOT of them in the movie (i.e. Christine's tights are missing when she wakes up, a grate is all of a sudden above Raoul after he falls in the water). But, yeah, it's pretty weird.

Weird, because it is not that they forgot something like with Christine`s tights, but on the contrary they had to "make" him a wound. So, didn`t they ask themselves what does it mean?
Anyway, dishevelled wounded Raoul looks a lot more dramatic than if he were neat and safe and sound.That`s what that scene demanded, maybe this`s the answer.

Yeah, and it makes the line "I fought so hard to free you" look like he really did fight... lol, I always laugh at that line.

Anyway, what I do not quite like about Raoul is when he first meets Christine after she had sung Think Of Me and orders her to go to the restaurant with him. "Five minutes, Little Lotte", or something like that. Was he her husband at the moment or what, to demand like this?..

Yeah, I guess he was just a little too excited to see her... but then again, Erik wasn't Mr. Sunshine, either.

I already have written it in the forum but I`d like to repeat here: Raoul spared Erik`s life in their duel in the movie while Erik didn`t want to return the compliment at the end. This is to Raoul`s credit, since it is his phan club.

Woo Raoul! Yep, he's a nice guy. But I am on Team Phantom, too... I like them both (as you can tell by my username)! Speaking of usernames, I like yours! Meg is one of my favorite characters!

Yes, I think she adds some kind of "theatrical" flavour in the book/movie. And, besides, she married an aristocrat afterwards(in the book)but never was ashamed of her past!

Cool! Yep, avatars are fun. I've only used this one on fanpop so far, but I want to use one that has Raoul, Christine, and the Phantom to make my username a little more complete.

I think there should be such a picture, among movie ads maybe...when there`s a love triangle in the movie they always make such pictures.
Besides, I like Raoul in the film more than in the book. In the book he`s too naive, even though , well, I understand that he didn`t meet people like Erik every day. Anyway

Yeah, in the book he kind of annoyed me a litttle because he was a little stalkerish of Christine. He meant well, but I do like him more in the film/ALW play. But they totally killed his character in LND! Raoul was too... gallant to end up all drunk and arrogant.

Hm... I got this one... it's kind of hard to tell but it's Raoul, Phantom, and Christine bowing.

Love Never Dies... the "sequel" to the musical... it's kind of bad. Well, the plot at least. You should check it out, though.

Oh yes, I`ve heard about it. I don`t like sequels and I don`t think this one is a good idea. Once the story is finished it`s finished. Though of course it`s easier to make sequels than to create something brand new...

Yes, I am anti-sequel as well. Phantom already had a good ending, why ruin it? And yeah, it is easier...

I loved Love Never Dies; I don't know about you two but I can't decide what will happen to Raoul or Gustaffe. I can't decide if the Phantom will bring Gustaffe up well.
