The Ranger's Apprentice Swali

In book 5 and 6 will has his own fief, but in book 7 he doesnt have a fief. The end of book 6 mentions the group that becomes apparent in book 8, but it is skipped over in book 7. Does anyone know if book 7 is taking place before vitabu 5 and 6?

Yes, # 7 goes back to his fourth mwaka as an apprentice. I read on the back of the book that John Flanagan realized that he had skipped his fourth mwaka apprenticeship so he decided to make a flashback.
