part 5

The leader talked to me of many things as he drove. Soon he asked me if I was a minor. I told him yes. "Yes" was a stretch of the truth but then so was "no" and the mind reader wasn't here to panya me out. I was terrified. My mind was so overloaded as the stress caught up with me. I knew I wasn't functioning well.

We weren't driving anymore. Two she-vampires were standing in front of a secluded house with the she-vampire from before. The one who approached me had red eyes. That made sense... a vampire with red eyes. The red-eyed she vampire took my hand and was saying something about how Carlisle was and excellent doctor. She looked wary but soon relaxed a bit.

In the house I heard a soprano voice say "It will be best not to have everyone there" with certainty then a man's voice note that I was shaking. Someone picked me up and walked with me.

I honestly don't remember much after that. The doctor took care of me and a few Wanyonya damu drifted in and out. Then I went to sleep.

I was still scared when I woke up but not as panicked as I had been before. The doctor soon gathered this and told me that I could leave once I had some chakula in my system. He alisema we would talk about where I was going. Of course he wanted to talk. He thought I was a minor. Most likely he assumed I had run away from home.

From the vampire dining room I could see the mind reader with the red-eyed she-vampire and what appeared to be their daughter (Was that possible? Was she only part vampire? Part human maybe?). All the Wanyonya damu seemed to be paired. A huge one with the one I'd seen first. The doctor paired with one who was just finishing setting the meza, jedwali for one. I heard "Are wewe projecting love?" and "no".

A new couple appeared. My eyes barely saw the tiny she-vampire before her mate and I stared at each other in anguish. I was terrified, angry, desperate and disappointed in myself and I didn't know why. It was obvious that he was sharing my trouble. The mind reader and the tiny one pulled him several feet back. I felt relieved and he looked it. "Is he... thirsty?" the leader asked the mind reader urgently "no" he replied in a tense voice. "Are wewe alright?" The anguished one asked me. He sounded mad but he was trying not to snap at me. I made a vague movement something between a shrug and a nod. "Are you?" He copied my shrug-nod.

The mind reader tried to explain what happened though he seemed unsure. "Jasper" he began, referring to the anguished one "tasted her and-" he cut off in response to my horrified look and/or thoughts. I didn't know what he meant but I knew I didn't want a vampire tasting me. The tiny one turned toward me "Jasper can sense emotions. When he senses we sometimes call it tasting." The mind reader continued "Jasper tasted her and I think she tasted him too. Not clearly but a little bit. So they tasted themselves and that made their emotions much stronger. I'm not sure. I can't read Juliet's mind well this morning. I don't know why. Yesterday I heard everything. Now I have to strain hard. Bella says she isn't projecting."
