Chapter 15

Jax felt he had been pounding on the door of Bone’s karakana for an hour. Finally, he heard the click of the lock and they door opened and he was greeted kwa the barrel of a shotgun.
“Whoa Bone come on its just me,” Jax alisema quickly with his hands up in surrender as Bone stepped closer to him without lowering his gun.
“Yeah I know it’s you, the hell wewe doin’ here?” Bone replied. His voice was raspy like he had a sore throat.
“I’m not drunk if that’s what you’re thinkin’.”
“No? Then why are wewe here?”
Bone kept his shotgun pointed at Jax.
“Look, I just escaped out of the hospital. My face is throbbing and probably bleeding, my feet are cut up and also bleeding. I need to clean up.”
Jax moved closer to under the flood light to onyesha Bone his bandages.
Bone finally lowered his gun but still stared at Jax suspisciously.
“Why escape from the hospital? wewe look pretty banged up.”
“It’s a long story, will wewe let me in?”

Bone thought about it for a sekunde but remembering that day’s earlier events he stepped aside to let Jax in.
“The hell happened to wewe boy?” Bones alisema putting his shotgun back into its safe.
“First tell me why your voice sounds like wewe swallowed sand,” Jax alisema while limping into bathroom holding a pair of pliers.
“My damn nephew, at least I think it was him. He came in here wanting a new bike but I didn’t recognize him, he looked so different like he had aged 10 years au something.”
The glass in Jax’s right foot were embedded deeper than he thought as he dug the plier into his skin to pull the first one out causing him to growl in agony
He tried to listen to what Bone was saying but the pain distracted him too much until he heard…,
“He grabbed my throat and squeezed it with this strength that was like…inhuman. He was like an animal, a wolf.”
“He attacked you?” Jax alisema loudly feeling shocked that Koda would even hurt his uncle.
“Sort of but not really, I think he just wanted to onyesha me who was boss au something, he didn’t want to kill me just spook me a bit. He succeeded all right.”

Jax finally pulled out the last glass shard and now his foot had gaping cuts on them, he was going to need stitches but there was no way he was going back to that hospital so he grabbed a couple of towels and wrapped his foot then taped it up with duct tape.
He slowly got up, easing his weight on his right foot. The pain was still agonizing. Looking in the mirror, his wounds had bled some through the bandages; enough that he needed to take them off if he wanted to avoid infection. He picked at the tape near his jawline, carefully pulling it back, wincing as the adhesive pulled at his skin.
While carefully dabbing at the deep scratches on his face with water they seemed better than they were, the swelling had gone down but they were still very raw. He decided to keep the bandages off; exposure to air would help them heal quicker.
“What do wewe think happened to him?” he asked, limping out the bathroom heading for the small kitanda Bone was sitting on.
Bone sighed heavily, “Are wewe familiar with our tribe stories?”
“A little but not much, not a lot of white folks are around here are.”
Bone told Jax the old tribe stories of the Skinwalkers and how once they become what they were; there was no way back except death.
Jax believed this happened with Koda and now felt that his feeling of revenge against him was all the zaidi the right choice. He then told Bone of his dream he had a couple of night before, of how he watched Koda kill his family.
“Koda attacked wewe too?” Bone asked pointing to all his injuries.
“Yeah, he got me good but it’s what he did to Shilah and their mom is what the worst part is.”
A deep cold swept over Bone as Jax told him what happened the other night. He couldn’t believe it.
Koda had killed his own family.
“How come he didn’t kill you?” Jax alisema breaking Bone out of his thoughts.
Bone looked at him without an answer except, “Don’t know.”

Koda pushed the accelerator on his bike, feeling the speed reach higher and higher until the desert was a whizzing blur. A surging power flowed through him. It was zaidi powerful than he had ever felt, like the evil was beginning to take over, just piece kwa piece.
He knew soon that nothing could over power him.
Lightning flashed above him. Another to his side, and then a large white blast exploded in front of Koda, blinding him, causing the bike to skid on the road and throwing him off, sliding down the highway at skin tearing speed.
He finally dragged to a stop, feeling as if every inch of his skin had been ripped off kwa a giant sander. His whole body burned so badly that he couldn’t breathe.
A blast of cold misty air enveloped him, softly raising him up as if it was cradeling him. The burning pain started to subside.
Then a ghostly figure materialized in front of him in the shape of a man.
Iah.

“Let this be a warning to you,” his voice was like a ghostly echo flowing through a canyon.
Iah stared down at Koda with his moon light eyes.
“You can never over power me…ever.”
The mist that cradled him seeped into his lungs as he drifted to sleep.
Chapter Nineteen

Seeing Sean Connors there with a bottle of wine inside the bag he’s carrying, Jamie was about to closed the door and headed up the stairs to sleep but she didn’t. Instead of doing that, Jamie stared at Sean’s eyes and with a questionable tone in her voice and a thin line on her face that resembled her smile, she asked him, “Sean, what are wewe doing here?”

Holding the heavy canvas bag in his hand and holding it up to the brunette woman while saying to her, “Hi, Jamie and well, I went over to the liquor store on the way nyumbani to get myself a six-pack of bia because...

After Patrick left, I had a restless night. I couldn’t sleep feeling that I’m a prisoner in those four walls in my room. I couldn’t sit quietly all night, nor slept for a brief moment. After all, Patrick’s visit was quite unexpected, and I wasn’t ready to see him that day. Also what was weird about his visit, that during all these two weeks he didn’t pay, not even a brief visit, to Robert’s house.
Wandering around my room with my pajama on, didn’t help me to sleep, nor comforted my restless mind. As I didn’t see him during these two weeks, I thought that those feelings I...

Is it possible to fall in upendo with someone you’ve never met
Your only knowledge stemming from information you’ve seen au read
Before I knew of his existence I would have stated no
Yet the first time I saw him my moyo begged to never let go
It isn’t rational
au logical
Though upendo rarely is
I can’t make my moyo stop wishing that I held his
And I know it's stupid and silly to believe
In some kind of fairy tale
The perfect prince for me
But every time I see that smile
I can’t help but feel
That one siku we could share
A upendo that is real

Ashleigh was a little three mwaka old, and I could see she'd be really pretty when she was older.

I wasn't sure how how, but becoming a mother just let me see clearly. About so many things. What was important and what wasn't worth it.

**************************************************

I'd picked her up from the daycare and took her to the playground, where we were supposed to meet Jamie, the little girl who was Ashleigh's best friend, and her mother, Jenna. Jenna was a single mother, like myself, but two years older. We'd become best Marafiki as our children had.

It was Friday, and Jamie...

I breathed in and out slowly. This was horrid. Running. I spat at the word. I despised running.

Joseph jogged up to me. "You okay Kristen?"
"Yeah, just give me a minute."
"Hah! wewe always end up like this. Maybe wewe should quit track?"
"You know I can't! If I do, then I have to do Trigonometry. Ugh. That's worse."
"Right..."
I stood up and we walked in silence. His lithe step did not match mine. I had a clumsy, trip over step. I needed somebody to teach me how to walk right.
"Oof." I had tripped, and landed on my side. How? I have no idea. Normal people land on their face au back. Not me!

Please e-mail me au comment. Tell me if wewe like this segment au not, if I get enought votes, I will continue my writing.

The snow is falling on this cold blistery afternoon.
Just up ahead, in the clearing I could see a young woman gloriously and delicately skating. Skating, as if she had skated her entire life.
Suddenly, I began remembering an adventure that seemed so many moons ago.
Beyond the horizon I could see myself walking briskly toward the solid, cold ice that kept me frozen in silence.
I could hear the ice crackling, like popcorn being popped, beneath my shaking feet.
As I adventured onto to the ice, I felt a cold chill creep up my back that seemingly felt like a warning sign to...

wewe couldn't and wouldn't,
ask for anything more.
Now all wewe want,
is to be able to rest.
For your famliy to be happy.
wewe wish wewe could help them,
through the pain,
but wewe can't,
wewe can only watch,
from the sky.
wewe can only watch them cry.
Hearts are now broken.
But your love,
is forever out spoken.
For twith out you,
there'd be no hope,
for those to come.
wewe put the doctors one step closer,
to finding the cure.
wewe may be just another person to them,

Plaese rest now.
Rest now and sleep.

He smirked. “Hello Sadie” he sang, I closed my eyes and then opened them again, hoping I was going blind. I heard footsteps behind me and then a loud scoff. “What’re wewe doing here?” Ethan asked, I opened my mouth to answer for Adam but was interrupted. “I came here to see Sadie” he said, I sighed. Ethan looked to me and gave me a look, one I noticed he used to give to me when we were kids and I had stolen his toy. “Is this true did wewe ask him to come?” Ethan asked me, I shrugged. “I don’t think so” I told him, I heard Adam laugh. “I’m so glad this amuses you!”...

Stewie (my little brother) and I found a new camp last night with other runaways. This was the biggest camp we've seen so far, but it's shelter, however temporary.

There were four people already here, plus Stewie and I, so we now have a camp of 6. There's Garret, who is my age, Mary, who is 16 and the twins, Eliza and Scott.

We are very well-supplied here, and so deep off the trails I doubt anyone will find us. It's...

We finally stopped when we reached the lake at the back of Ferntree Collage. My body was aching I hadn't run that much in so long and gosh this bag is heavy.
"I don't know if he saw us, we might not have ran far enough. So keep quiet and rest." Amber whispered
My sides ached as I breathed, but I needed to know who we were running from. Even if it killed me.
"Who...did...we...escape from?" I managed to say, though I'm surprised she heard it.
"It was Brent. I saw him coming and he looked angry"
The aching seemed to disappear as I sat up and stared into Amber's eyes.
"It was Brent?!" I whispered more...

Bloom and I decided to walk out of the room and give the boy some time to rest. But later that night, because of my curiosity over the boy, I went into his room again and sat on the edge of the bed. I stared at his beautiful face, but wondered why… why he had a bandage over his eye. That’s when the boy began to stir, and I immediately left the room. The inayofuata morning, when I woke up, Bloom and Abby were already up and making breakfast together. I kind of wanted to smile at this, it was kind of nice to see servants and mistresses getting along with each other, rather than being apart. I went...
