In the mwaka 4125 the Earth was still turning on itself. Apparently everything was the same as it was two thausand years ago. But it wasn't so. The democracy we got fighting was distroied kwa a man. After 15 years of wars, in 4025 Cyrus defeated free people and he established the tyranny. The whole world was controlled and the freedom dind't exist anymore. Everyone Lost trust in everything, in love, in courage, in God. Most of people didn't know that there was a prophecy. It alisema that the humanity had to pass through a century of pain and fear to realize how important freedom was. But then in the 101st mwaka four guys, with the Gift, could overthrow the government.
-Hurry up! you're in late!- alisema Alec. He pratically pulled off Shown from his bed. Shown muttered for a while but then he stood up and went slowly to the bathroom. He looked terribly. He had bags under his eyes. He couldn't sleep because of the fear. Alec came near him.
-So, are wewe excited, son?-
-No i'm not. And don't call me son because you're not my father-
-In the State's opinion wewe are- alisema coldly Alec. Alec was short with big blue eyes and blond hair. Shown instead was tall, with green eyes and dark hair. When Cyrus, the tyrant, destroied Europe because it didn't want to send ranks, the most of the population died. Just a few children stayed alive and they were taken kwa the tyrant, who gave them to the most loyal strategists and commanders. They had to train them to be soldiers faithful to the tyrant. Then when they become 20, they have to fight 'till death in a arena to prove that they become worthy to fight in the tyrant army. Actually, Shown was one of those children, he Lost his family and he became 20 in that year. And now Alec, his foster father was preparing him to go to the arena that morning.
-I don't feel like i'm ready Alec, i'm afraid to die- alisema Shown
-I don't care. The Tyrant wants wewe to fight to prove that wewe are the greatest fighter. And you'd better not die, i'm the First Strategist, wewe have to uphold the honor-. Shown felt like he was alone in the world. While he was at school he saw his classmates proud to be "sons" of the commanders and wanted to fight in the army. They thought that their real family weren't grateful and that they had to die for this. Shown couldn't understand why.
-Hurry up. I don't want wewe to be the last one to arrive at the downtown- alisema Alec. Shown went downstairs and ate some cereals with some milk. Alec went away:-I have to prepare the arena. Don't be late- and he went out. After half an saa Shown went out too. The city was full of skyscrapers and the train we were used to use didn't exist anymore. In those years there were big fast trains detached from the ground. Even the cars didn't run on the asphalt, but they almost touched it. Shown sighed and went to the station.
-Which tiket sir?- asked smiling the man in the cabin, kibanda called "departures".
-Downtown- alisema sadly Shown. Hearing that word the man Lost his smile and became serius.
-Here wewe are. Good luck-
-Thank you- Shown waited for the train that arrived in three minutes. It was noon, and the fight was starting at 1:05 P.M. and the travel lasted an hour. Anyway Shown wasn't in a hurry.
-Sir,we arrived- alisema politly the conductor.
-What?- alisema Shown. He was sleeping.
-We are downtown. The arena is on the left.- Shown stood up and run out of the train shouting "thank you" to the conductor. He went in the preparing room and met the other fighter. Everyone was proud to be there. Shown worn the armature. And waited for his turn with the moyo in his throat.

This is written about the perfect silence only found in the dead of night, and the feelings it inspires.
The title comes from the description a friend of mine gave when we were stuck in the middle of nowhere at midnight and I found it sort of beautiful.
Enjoy (I hope) :)
Weighted air and winking stars,
darkness draped, tension wrought.
This night, this hour, is ours.
Silence chimes unspoken thoughts
that choke my mouth.
Silver moonbeams in glittering outline
surround you, and in our youth
this night, this hour, we intertwine.
I'd upendo to hear what wewe like au hate.
Thanks for reading.
