Quicksilver\'s New X-Men Scene Is Epic, Here\'s What We Can Tell You

Thanks to Quicksilver�s big moment, in which he literally ran circles around Pentagon security, the character became the MVP of

. With the apocalyptic follow-up coming out in a couple of months, you can bet he has another scene-stealer. "Quicksilver�s too irresistible a character not to feature," producer Hutch Parker said on the set of

, "and similarly it was too irresistible to [director] Bryan [Singer] not to try to build on the last sequence."

The question is, can the VFX team top what came before? This time out, Quicksilver\'s big moment involves a daring rescue mission (but to reveal any more would be to potentially spoil the movie for you).�Evan Peters continued:

] kinda really awesome, I thought. And I was just a minion. You know what I mean? They just told me what to do, so I didn�t really have much to do with it. But I was curious to see how they were gonna top it and if they could, and I think they have. I�m very excited to see it myself, and I�m excited for everybody to see it, because we�ve been working hard on it. While we\'d love to give you all the details of what\'s coming, the sequence is pretty major, one that involves a lot of moving parts, man hours, and characters. So we\'re going to keep that one under wraps...at least for the time being.

That said, you\'ve already seen a few glimpses -- one from his moment in the trailer (shown above), and one from a snapshot Bryan Singer posted to Instagram (shown below). The latter features a few kids frozen as they\'re suspended from wires.�

What we can say is that Evan Peters, who both ended work on

with the air canon, spent about 30 days performing "very meticulous and tedious work" to bring this scene to life. Elsewhere, Nicholas Hoult explained the "amazing sequence" has many moving parts and takes place within the span of 2-3 minutes.

Much as the Quicksilver scene will have progressed from the one in

, so too will the character, who goes by Peter instead of Pietro in this story. Evan Peters tells us:

He�s kinda matured a little bit. He�s gotten into music a little bit, cleaned up a little bit. Yeah, he�s not quite the klepto that he was. I have a purpose and a goal, and I�m following that, and it sort of intertwines with the rest of the X-Men and having to, obviously, battle Apocalypse. This purpose, it seems, involves his biological father, Magneto. Michael Fassbender said "there will be a development" regarding this relationship, and writer-producer Simon Kinberg further teased

is, in a way, about families coming together. According to Peters, Quicksilver now knows that Magneto is his father.�"He knows who he is now, so he�s trying to find him. He�s been searching for him and it�s been 10 years and he hasn�t found him," he said. "Then something happens."
