After the long ride home, I walked to the cave where I had been staying for the last little while. I had covered the entrance with vines, but inside was bright thanks to the oil lanterns I purchased. I also picked this particular spot because it had a constant trickle of water slashing down the side of the cave wall. I crushed up some moyo shaped herb to enhance my senses. I rubbed it on my palms and my face, then let it sit for a moment. Then, I rinsed it off, felling refreshed. Kid Flash zoomed in.
“Ooh! What’cha making?” he asked, eating some. He instantly spat it out.
“EW! wewe eat that stuff?!” he gagged
“The moyo shaped herb enhances ones senses and is applied to the skin. Most notably, it is a lethal poison to those not of the royal line” I said. He rushed to the mini waterfall and rinsed out his mouth. I smiled softly.
“Hey, the team is going swimming. Want to come?” Kid asked
“I shall watch on the beach. I do not wish to rinse off any residue from the moyo shaped herb” I said, exiting my cave. I brought out a small device and tapped it. A hover cycle burst through the bushes. It was black with purple accents.
“Oh, that is just to cool!” Kid Flash remarked, getting on.
“Who alisema wewe were riding?” I asked, shoving him off. I put my foot on the accelerator and sped off. The speedster kept up until we got into thick forest. I went above the trees while he had to go through them. I laughed loudly. I landed on the beach, pwani sekunde before Kid Flash emerged from the forest.
“Cheater” he complained.
“Hurry up Wally!” Artemis called
“Wow. The fastest boy alive needs to be told to hurry. That’s new” I laughed. I pulled back my cowl and let my dark hair fall down my shoulders. I laughed as Robin and Artemis njiwa out of the way when Super Boy came down in a kanuni, cannon ball. Miss Martian ran up to me.
“C’mon, Zina!” she urged
“I do not own a swim suit, nor do I swim” I said
“Well, that’s gunna have to change” she smiled, dragging me to the mountain. She dragged me to her room and found several bathing suits. I picked a simple purple one piece with some black sandals. I tied my hair back into a messy bun. I looked at myself in the mirror. I didn’t look half bad. I walked out with Miss Martian and laid down on the beach, soaking in the sun. It felt good against my cool skin. Someone came up and sat beside me.
“Sunglasses?” he offered. I knew kwa his voice, it was Robin.
“Do wewe have an extra?” I asked
“Yup, that’s why I offered” he said.
“Sure why not?” I nodded. He placed some dark sunglasses on my face. I stopped squinting instantly. The glasses provided the perfect light-dark contrast.
“Thanks” I smiled
“No problem. Anything for the Queen of Africa” he teased
