Chapter Two-
Wally slumped on the kitanda inayofuata to Artemis. Right now, he didn’t care that he was uncomfortably close to her. He was too tired from running back and forth through the mountain.
The two sat in silence for a while, watching the news until Wally noticed Artemis was asleep.
He was about to get up when he suddenly realized Artemis’s arm was draped across his chest (purely kwa accident) and he couldn’t get up without disturbing her.
So Wally sat in silence for a while, watching news about the stocks and samaki scroll the screen. Eventually, he was on the verge of dozing off too, and would have, if Artemis hadn’t groaned in her sleep, trying to twitch her leg.
Wally noticed it was at an awkward angle and tried to shift to songesha it. It wasn’t easy work. Wally could barely slouch down in the kitanda without disturbing Artemis, much less fix her leg on the opposite side of the piece of furniture.
Wally looked around desperately. He saw a mto on the floor from when Artemis had thrown it at him earlier and moved it with his foot. He kicked it in the air and caught it with one hand. He turned around to replace himself with the mto to see Artemis grinning at him.
“The mto isn’t very warm and doesn’t have that disgusting, unique smell of yours.” she alisema with a smirk.
“So wewe notice how I smell now?” Wally asked. “And for your information, I just got out of the heat of battle carrying your bloody body before I passed out. I didn’t have time to take a bath au put on deodorant yet.”
Artemis grimaced and moved her arm. “Nevermind.”
Wally rolled his eyes and stood up, yawning and stretching his legs.
He moved Artemis’s leg and looked at her.
“I’m going to my room for something. Try not to kill yourself while I’m gone.” Wally said, and blurred off.
Artemis waited a moment before Wally reappeared. He had in his arms several video games and two game controllers.
He tossed one of the game controllers to Artemis and popped a disc into the game console before blurring back to the couch.
“What’s this for?” Artemis asked, waving the controller in front of the speedsters face.
“Its to play the game.” Wally said.
“I know that.” Artemis said. “I mean why did wewe give me one?”
Wally pressed a few buttons at rapid sequence and a game menu popped up.
“I thought wewe might want to play?” he asked.
“Not so wewe could whip my butt as wewe like to put it?” Artemis asked, unsure, but still turning the controller on.
“No,” Wally said. “And I will beat you!”
“Will not!”
“Will too!”
“Not!”
“Too!”
“Not!”
“Too!”
“There’s only one way to settle this.”
“You are so going down!”
