"So how do we play this out?" Phoebe asked.
The girls, Artemis, Lucas and Charm were standing in front of a small wooden hut, that was wrapped in thick, green vines. Robin was surveying the door and Fin was standing kwa him. Despite it's small, story book appearance, the security systems were over the juu and crazily impossible to hack. Delta had even helped triple hack. Everyone had tried to open the door, but to no avail.
"What does this Kaylee even do?" Charm muttered to himself, folding his arms across his chest.
"She's my clone. Problem?" Fin turned to the older boy, a familiar smirk spreading across her face. Suddenly she switched her gaze to something behind him. "Don't do anything."
"Wha-"
He glanced behind him into the surrounding woods and saw a small figure standing between the trees. "What do wewe want?" came the small voice.
"We want Emerald. Do wewe know who that is?"
The figure stepped out from the shadows. It was a small boy, about eight years old, with dark brown hair. He wore a white koti, jacket and black jeans, and wore blue converse. "Why do wewe need her?" his young voice quavered. Fin opened her mouth to reply when another girl's voice screamed:
"Russel!"
The boy shrunk back and turned towards the woods. A girl with auburn red hair lept down from a branch newly grown. "What did I tell you?" she yelled, sprouting thick vines from the ground. "To not run from me!!" The girl continued to strangle the boy verbally, him arguing back. Mercy turned to Fin. "Uh, what is this?"
Fin smiled and cleared her throat. The girl stopped screaching at the boy and turned. "Oh, my god..." she murmured, then let loose a delighted squeal and dashed towards the group. "Fin!!!!"
"Come here, you!" Fin giggled as she was tackled kwa Kaylee who had left a trail of flowers in her wake. They fell to the ground, laughing mindlessly, when someone coughed loudly. "Oh, right. Guys, I'd like wewe to meet Kaylee, a freelancing eight mwaka old heroine who goes kwa Emerald. Emerald, this is Lucas, Charm, Phoebe, Mercy, Scarlet, Aisling, Delta, Blade, Becca. And wewe remember Artemis and Robin."
"Nice to meet wewe all," Kaylee grinned.
"Gosh, this is your clone?" Mercy asked.
"She doesn't look anything like you!" Blade exclaimed, whipping her head back and forth between the two.
"Thank you!" Kaylee sighed. "I've told her that for a while now!"
"Uh huh..." Lucas responded with a blank stare.
Kaylee shrugged and fixated her attention back on me. "So, what's up?"
Robin looked at the small girl. "Brennan," he gave, and her face went from youthful innocence to fury. "Him? I'll pummel him any day," she growled.
Fin looked at the girl with shock. Delta spoke suddenly, "But wewe don't even know who he is!" Then she shook her head. "Dammit Fin!"
"Yeah, I do." Kaylee reached for the door, then a thought occured to her. "Russel!" she yelled, and suddenly the boy was beside her. "Yeah, Kay?" he asked.
"Open. Now."
"No prob, sis."
His eyes glowed a deep white and he held his hand out. The door bent quickly, revealing a small furnished interior. Most everyone went in, everyone but Fin and Kaylee. Fin turned to the younger girl as she sheepishly bit her lip. "'Sis?'"
"Uh.. yeah... Inside?" Fin nodded to her and they ducked in, wasting precious time.
