I almost voted Cinderella, because I like Sleeping Beauty better, but this isn't about the better movie.
I'm not saying it's terrible- I do enjoy watching it- but now that I'm older it doesn't really have much going for me.
Does the film take in months or days? If it is months like the movie is trying to tell us, then why is Maurice laying in the forest in weeks or months. If it is days, then Belle and Beast's relationship is even worse considering the situation.
Did the town know about the Beast beforehand or not. They say that they knew nothing of a Beast before Bee showed it on the mirror and Gaston told them a bunch of stuff. They make it to the Beast's castle (though they knew nothing about him) without struggle and in minutes, while Maurice could not find it again.
They are mostly time issues but they do cause holes and a bunch off unexplained things in the plot and contradict certain things and messages. I think that is what princecatcher93 meant.
The film takes place in months, Maurice left to go find Belle and could have been in the Forest for Days. You lost me, with Belle and Beasts relationship being in worse situation. After the Dance, you can tell she loves the Beast and he loves Belle, but she goes to help him home. The Beast has finally learned to love. She loves him but has not admitted it yet.
Gaston is a known hunter, he knows the land ( the woods) - I think you are looking a little too far into this. He could probably see the castle and recognize the woodland area. Who knows. It was not explored, so it was not a plot hole, there was no background story. Plus that is what lynch mobs do they go out searching where ever- all mad finding whoever they are after. Hence the " MOB SONG".
The things you mentioned are not essential to the story or important. If its a PLOT HOLE, that means it really gets in the way or if a character says something and then another character says something along the lines and it contradicts what the other said. That is a plot hole.
Non existent parents are not plot holes either. There are alot of those in Disney films.
BatB is very timeless too, but the animation didn't age quite that good. It's still impressive, but it betrays its age a little bit. (And I hope that the double posts contra Sleeping Beauty from the same users are not counted when it comes which one has more votes)
@persephone, no. Maurice left to find her the day she left and she went to go get him when she left. Either way, plotholes have nothing to do with it, and I actually don't understand princecatcher's reason.
