Advice Swali

I have my first job interview inayofuata week. Any tips? Also, the interview is at noon and I have class before that so it's not very practical to dress up. So, do wewe think it would be ok to wear a nice sweater & black jeans with black boots?

I'm applying to be a Speaker's lab mentor. A speaker's lab position is part-time employment at my school (college) for students. If I get the job, I will be assisting students with speech delivery, helping them overcome anxiety & stage fright, helping strengthen speech content, helping with PowerPoint presentations, etc.

Advice Majibu

Doesn't matter what wewe are doing before, get suited up. wewe have to dress to impress.

Be prepared to answer maswali about time management, and how wewe organise priorities, as well as how wewe get on with people.

Be relaxed, prepare your majibu ahead of time.

I've been to dozens of job interviews and what above said, dress to impress. First impressions are paramount.

If you're worried choose a suit, get it cleaned, laundered and then hang it up on a kanzu, koti hanger, wrapped in a large plastic bag so it doesn't crease and keep it in your locker. That way wewe can change in less then 3 dakika and be on your way. Make sure your shoes are shiny and brush your hair. If wewe have no time to clean your teeth, suck mints.

Prepare your majibu before hand, like above said. Imagain what maswali they will ask wewe and write down your answers. Practise in a mirror, with friends, your parents, your tutors until wewe can rely on eye contact to get wewe through.
wewe CV should include any other jobs wewe have done, references from your employers, anything wewe do out of school time wewe find interesting, what grades wewe have/grades wewe are predicted.
If wewe haven't had a job yet, ask your tutors if they will write a short note on how they find wewe in class.
And the best tip i was ever given. If wewe do not understand a swali the employer asks, au wish for zaidi time to think about your answer say ' could wewe please repeat the question.'

Just remain calm and be as honest but positive as wewe can.

For example,i told my current employer though i had expereince in waitressing it was not as high class as the establishment they were in, and that instead of telling me what to do (like how to carry 7 plates instead of 3) they would have to onyesha me as i was a visiual learner. That will give your employer the confidence that wewe know what wewe need to learn.

I was employed in September 2010, we are now in Janurary 2011, and i am already an under-manager. To say i started as a waitress, that isn't so bad.
But wewe must onyesha wewe can work hard and take things in.
